lvl 73 Immobility spell question

<p>Is it even worth using considering the decrease in dps that you occur as a result of it?  I am buckler speced and rely on my dps to help keep agro.  Is this even a useful spell that i should be using on pulls?  How often does the root break from people beating on the mob? </p><p>Sorry for all the questions, I recently betrayed and don't see the benefit of this spell, but I may be missing something that may be useful in situations.  TY of all the help.</p>

This was an upgrade to Plant. And there is quite a bit of discussion on this board from the past about the uses for Plant. If you need to lock down mobs, it's handy. I also use it on some named because it's yet another debuff on them. If you're tanking, you take less damage (in theory). I've never had to worry about losing aggro from using Plant, quite the contrary, it helps with AE aggro.

When you use plant it's usually so all your aoers can go nuts then you reinforce plus aoe to snap aggro back to the top. Or even if you're in a group and see someone spam a manaburn or lifeburn macro toss it up. The root isn't breakable from damage either. And the dps loss isn't that big a deal. If the mobs within aoe range you're all good. It's not something you really use the moment you pull, more like something you use after you're set before the dps goes off.

Since the reason you use this spell is primarily for the root effect, and the T8 version has a longer root duration, it's actually one of the few spells worth upgrading to ad3 in T8 imo.
