hrath everstill wont give me access to Bertoxxulous quest-line: god issues?

i talk to hrath everstill in TD and he only says some junk about everything being poison blah blah and wont give me the quest line for bertoxxulous whom id like to take as my god but for some reason nothing happens. ive tried other gods in the past and by talking to their 'rep' you can drop the old diety and take the new one. is bertoxxulous different? is it broken or not in-game yet? how does this work? ive tried clicking on the altar near-by but that isnt targetable.  is there a trick to this that i dont know about or is it just one more of the list of things i apparently cant figure out? thx folks

i worshipped Sol Ro before and i had to go back to Sol Ro's prophet to renounce him, then when i returned to Hrath, i was able to accept the Bertoxulous quests.
