Guys. I have a Fury and a Defiler and thinking about making an Inquisitor. But I had an idea about the Defiler Dog Pet. Why can't the pet be changed going by the person's race? Or like a Fury on their animal focus be given three pet options (Tree, Tiger and Wolf).

I play a Kerra Defiler who worships Karana and I live in Gorowyn. Why can't I have a Tiger pet instead of this wolf? I think that this would be a better option IMHO. Each could give you a benefit like the Fury animals, and just a bit more hit point on each one.

I agree, the Dog is only useful if you're specced as an oh [Removed for Content] healer, and even then it could be better. I also think just being able to choose a different pet style would liven up the class a bit. A few different appearances would be awesome, especially if they had various bonuses, maybe one pet for soloing, one pet for healing, one pet for doing dps in a group. Though I still appreciate that they changed the dogs to look different between defilers and mystics.

Yea, I think it'd be cool to be able to choose a different graphic for the dog. For a defiler maybe a skeletal dog or something along those lines ... However, it is just an asthetic.

As for giving us a few different pets with different abilities ... That's taking it a bit too far, if I wanted Tank,Dps and Scout abilities in my pet I'd have chosen a Necro or a Conjy ... although it'd be cool I have to admit ... but not within the class boundries I don't think...

Cheers and BeersMe

Make the pet's apperance change with the Tier of the defiler. Lvl 10-19 would be dog, lvl 20-29 would be a wolf, lvl 30-39 would be a ghost dog, lvl 40-49 would be a ghost wolf, lvl 50-59 could be a enlarged scropion, lvl 60-69 could be a tiger, lvl 70-79 could be a lion, lvl 80 could be a .... something. You know just swap it up some so we're not staring at the same pet for 80 levels like some of us have been. That and for the love of all that's good in the world...increase it's base HPS!!!

But more the lines that if he chose the wolf pet, he would get a bonus to agi and hits faster in melee. Or the Tiger pet, would give the Defiler more str and sta and hit hard in melee. Or the tree that would give the Defiler more wis and hit harder in the magic area. More like that, and those were examples only. I really think they could work on this and get the Defiler a tad nicer.

I have a better idea. Remove the pet from the game, or give him to us as the level 20 fluff spell he is (like the wizard cat spell). Problem with our AA lines solved...

My wife and I decided to make 2 new toons on a new server yesterday for a bit of peace and quiet occasionally, away from normal Guild stuff. In her infinate wisdom (cos she is the boss) she decided to roll a Defiler. Her first comment as soon as she got the dog?Why is it a normal wolf? you'd expect it to be a ghost or something considering it's called a spirit companion.

This reminds me of gnome and iksar necros in eq1. I played an iksar and I always wished I could have an iksar skelly. And I knew some gnome necros who wished they could get the tiny skeletons in steamfont. Anyway, they never implemented this, so I doubt they will do anything here either. But one can always hope.

A mouse or a rat to have a snack ready if you get hungry?
