Something that was mentioned on eq2flames and I want to mention it over here also.

+spell damage mods is being applied to our dot CAs at a minimum. You see this as initial damage of the CA, then the spell damage, then the dot portion of the CA. However, there is no damage update in the description.

+combat art mods are changing the description of our combat arts. Aka the damage on the combat arts is being changed in the description.

The wealth of unknowns at this time:

Combat art mod, does it add damage to any of our combat arts. If it does, the dot CAs arent front loaded as it is with spell damage.

Spell damage mod, is it effecting our DDs?

Honestly, I don't know if both, just one or the other is suppose to effect our CAs. I need to test this but really haven't had the time yet to sit down and do a thorough test. Just want the rest of the community to see this as a heads up as it is deffinately screwie.

not sure if it answers your question but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the +CA gear is bonuse to all our combat arts and will aslo up your parse.

Inspect your Chilling Strike.Equip a piece with +CA on it.Inspect Chilling Strike.Did the max damage go up? Yes, it did. So long as your STR remained constant, the max damage should go up by exactly the listed amount of bonus. It probably works a little differently for things that have a DoT effect, in that the bonus is likely normalized over the entire course of the damage run. Honestly, I never checked on DoT's, I just used Chilling Strike since it was the most obvious one. However, that mechanic is exactly how +Spell is applied.

I remember when heal+ adornments didn't affect our ward at first. Then, without any mentions in GU, it started affecting the wards although the buff ward is still bugged as you have to cast againand again in new zones. BTW, can this be fixed, SOE? It's been a year already. My guess is that if spell dmg works, either spell dmg benefit is mistaggedor it will be changed to have no effect for ca's w/o any official word at some point.

If the mechanics around our CA's are murky it shouldn't take long to sort it out. I love that [Removed for Content] wall.
