In its history, the outpost of Firiona Vie has been overrun more than once. The elves and their allies have always returned to recapture the outpost. The Koada'Dal always sent some of their strongest units to retake Firiona Vie, including a number of the clandestine Koada'Vie. It is no wonder that after the isolation of Kunark that the survivors of the final fall of Firiona Vie were quite capable of vanishing into the wilds and living off the land, avoiding their many foes of Kunark. Those survivors adapted to the escalating wars and cataclysms that raged across the continent. Eventually, Teren would create the foundation of what is now Teren's Grasp.

As for Lenya Thex, don't cast her aside as a great ruler. She did not bring about the downfall of Felwithe. A Koada'Dal High Council played a large part in the ruin to come. The seeds of corruption began decades before Norrathians rediscovered the Koada'Dal capital. Here is a summary of events that led up to the corruption of Felwithe.

Age of War

During the reconstruction of Felwithe after the War of Fay, the queen began to have prophetic dreams of a force that would come to decimate the city of Felwithe and defile all the laws of Tunare. These visions would play a part later on in this age. The High Council began to control the empire beyond the will of the queen. During this age they gained greater power. The presence of Mayong had entered the city in secrecy. Mayong controlled the High Council who interpreted the queen's prophecies in a way that would persuade the people to fear the outside world and isolate themselves. Eventually, the queen began to fear the High Council and challenge their rule. She attempted to escape the city to seek guidance from the wood elf druids and Heartwood Master. She was captured and the High Council had her locked in the palace tower.

Age of Cataclysms

During the early days of this age, the High Council tightened their grip over Felwithe and created a set of laws they called the Tenets of Tunare. These laws were infected with hidden lies that would allow greater control of the city and the destiny of the high elves. As the rest of the world rumbled, the queen was still locked up in the tower and the city stood strong. The crystal golems began to make their appearance after the high council ordered their creation. Prince Marcus, the queen's brother and leader of the Koada'Vie, returned to Felwithe after his long quest for a sacred artifact. He found the city was now corrupted. He crept into the city, employing a secret tunnel used by the Koada'Vie. During his exploration he met his sister and tried to escape to get help. He was captured and is believed to have been executed.

Mayong's presence grew stronger as he had Koada'Dal kidnapped and brought to his catacombs for experiments. These experiments led to the creation of the Dreloks. The most important thing that occurred during this time was the relationship between Mayong and Queen Lenya Thex. The vampire lord began to visit her in hopes of beguiling her for secrets of elven artifacts. But a bond with the queen grew stronger after each visit. The queen never knew she was speaking to Mayong, but was very glad to have visitors to her isolated tower. Mayong sometimes had the queen brought to his castle through secret passageways between the Loping Plains and Felwithe.
