View Full Version : Question regarding CA use order for MT'ing

I just betrayed from a zerker to a guard, currently lvl 73, I am 448 stre, 44881 sta, and 44881 int speced atm in my warrior tree. I have played a zerker since the release of this game and there were specific CA's that when used in teh right order made agro management when MT'ing super easy. I was wondering what order i should be casting CA's and taunts in order to generate the most hate when I'm MT'ing with my guard.

Thank you for the input. =)

Hmmm....I would like to know this as well as I have finally gotten my Guard to the point where I have to start considering Raiding. (Been busy with PvP)Anyone got a good setup?

Going into AGI line will help with your aoe agro as well.

I betrayed as well awhile ago so I had a lot more time to find what worked for me best.

I went STR 4-4-8-3 AGI 4-4-8-8-2 INT 4-4-6-8-2

My hotbars start with my 2 standard taunts followed by Acceleration Strike, Executioner's Wraith then my high damage CA's. To find the remaining order of attack CA's I spent some time with ACT (Advanced combat Tracker) running fighting the same type of mob and placing the CA's in an order where like-reuse popped. So during an encounter I can taunt, do high damage and follow along the hotbar to the next hotbar where after all CA's were used a new set of about 5 would pop next to each other and after that another 3 would pop next to each other ... then the 5 would so on and so on untill Acceleration strike, Executioner's Wrath, and the large hitting CA's would repop. You can get them sorted and always have a CA to hit and its easy to hit multiple CA's next to one another instead of all over your hotbars. Save the real long CA's for the end of your sequence so that you give the other ones time to repop. Also don't forget about your HO starter as for some reason most in PU groups don't even put it on their hotbars and there are some beneficial uses to it. (Might wake them up to using it)

It takes a lot of messin around with hotkey orders but aside from the hard hitting CA's (ie. Flay) the rest just order close to one another how they repop.

As for short-terms, command on harder pulls along with ToS. I keep all defensive CA's together with intercede in an easy to hit location incase someone does happen to get agro. With the AGI line you get Dragoon Cyclone which you can pair with reinforcement (Reinf then dragoon, I make a macro for both) increasing hate by all encounter mobs and then plant. I'll also use block (guardian AA tree line) when all of my CA's have been used. With proper timing, instead of just button mashing each CA you will not only increase your dps but will hold agro very well.

It is a good idea to open CA's with Obliterate / Decimate - that way you increase your chance of your successive CA's hitting.

On my guard I've always kept debuffs in one group stun/stifles in another. CAs are more of a situational thing for me though, since with str/agi/sta/int the vast majority of my dps is from auto-attack anyways....Need to get that toon to 80 and slap a good weapon on her.../sigh...fury first though 77 and counting.

Other than the final ability in Agility the AOE aggro stuff seems to be a waste to me for RoK so I didn't go down that line...

Yeah, I do like the final ability, but the fact that large groups of mobs are almost nonexistant only make the agi line useful on adds when you need to snag em using reinforcement. Not sure if I'm staying specced to it for now.
