Sorry to post this here but I felt this was probably my best bet. I'm looking for a stand alone game for PC or PS2 with a pet class similar to the necro/conj in EQ2. So far I'm not having much luck but I would assume it's out there. Any ideas? Thanks!

It's a very short list of games, probably why you haven't found any. But here's what I come up with.Try Overlord for Xbox 360 or PC. Basically it's like playing a Shadowknight that controls a horde of demons at once, starting out as few as 5 demons all the way up to 50 IIRC.You *can* play a Necromancer type character in Oblivion (for PC, PS3, Xbox 360), as well as other Elder Scrolls games. It's very difficult to play it exactly like you do in EQ2, though, since standard pets only have a duration of about 30 or 40 seconds and you can't directly control them. On the other hand you can get your hands on a small army of permanent assistants that are basically pets that follow you around and attack anything that attacks you.Pikmin and Pikmin 2 (for Gamecube) are sort of like playing a pet class. You control a small dude and up to 100 Pikmin to do your bidding, everything from killing enemies to harvesting your spaceship parts. It's more a puzzle game than a pet game though, and there's not much replay value. Then of course there's Diablo and Diablo 2.
I haven't played a console game since that Gauntlet game came out for the N64. That being said, my brother brought Overlord on whatever system it was on to my house and I saw him play it. It looked pretty neat.I had a blast when Diablo 2 came out but I played it with the same group of people that would ditch raids in EQ1 for Starcraft. Bnet was somewhat obnoxious then. I don't know how it is now. Diablo 2 was neat though. I think it would be much harder than a MMO is to "get into" mainly because I view it as closer to Super Mario Brothers immersion than EQ immersion but play it late one night with lights off and who knows, you may get the necro feel.
