View Full Version : What Kunark Effects are Best for SK?

A lot of the Kunark gear has + to spell dmg, + to in-combat health and power regen, + to combat arts, + double attack, + to ranged etc.This has me wondering which is best for an SK to wear. Do we even have double attack?So far I went with the plus to combat arts, spell damage and hp/power regen. But maybe I should go all plus spell damage?Thanks for inputScorpionBlade of Kithicor

<p>I don't have an SK as a main, so perhaps I am not an authority on this subject, but I think there are scales and/or caps on most of these skills so I think you might be best to spread out a little loving between them all rather than just pick one and focus on it.</p><p>Spell damage and spell procs might be the two most useful for an SK, I dunno for sure, but it's definately nice to give yourself the opportunity to have double attacks and a decent melee crit chance as well.</p>

<p>As a Cavalier, +combat damage can have some good use cuz it works with joust and lance. Lance got pretty good damage overall after the upgrade. At my level (74), lance can do 850ish hp direct damage plus 160 hp per 4 sec tick for 36 seconds for total 1440+ 850 = 2290 damage along with jousting doing over 1k damage. Adding combat arts can help some on that.. It works pretty good with siphon strength to add more strength to us.. </p><p>If SK doesn't do cavalier then the use of combat arts can be more limited cuz of 2 missing CAs in their arsenal.. </p><p>Spell damage is most useful for us cuz of our many spells spamming especially with reaver line along with our very good spell procs effect coupled with our HIGH INT.. I would go after spell damage the most than anything else.</p><p>SK doesn't have double attack so any +DA bonus is helpful for us cuz we have LONG way to hit cap.. Some classes such as bruiser in str line that can achieve 96% double attack then +DA bonus from gear would be totally wasted once they hit 100% DA.. +DA gear for us will not be wasted in any way. It's impossible for us to achieve 100% DA heh. </p><p>+melee crits are even nicer.. It works with our CAs (even with joust and lance as well) as well as our auto attack.. </p><p>+spell crits are good as long as we don't go over 100% limit. We already enjoying 69% spell crit. All we need is to get gear totalling +31 spell crit % then we are good to go.... </p><p>Regeneration is something that I am not too crazy about but health regeneration can be useful to counter our reaver hp reg penalty in combat. I got battle aura of leadership that gives +53 to combat reg so I felt that it was more than enough and can afford to forego those +combat reg gear..</p>

IMO, this is what any SK should be looking for:+Block > +Parry > +Defense Then for DPS:+Spell damage > +Melee crit > +Double Attack > + Spell crit > +Combat Art Damage.We have very few CA's so +CA damage is crap for us, we already get 68% spell crit from AAs so as you can see, that is not a priority. Chances are, by default you'll end up with much higher (I have 75% spell crit), add a Troub to that and it's already well over 80. Melee crit is important for auto attacks with your badass 2H's like Axe of Unending War, Chirat, Spine of the Skorpsis, Soulfire etc.

I tried to add deflection long time ago and saw no % increase in deflection area of avoidance and saw zero change. So I assumed that deflection is totally worthless for SK since SK got no skill in that..</p><p>Maybe it got changed or something like that? I can double check my avoidance tonight to see if I have deflection % changed with my new very nice human trait + 7 in most skills including defense and deflection..</p><p>If deflection still won't work on SK then it should be:</p><p>+Block > +Parry > +Defense </p>

No, we don't benefit from Deflection afaik. And it was spell damage over spell crit, sorry it was early.
