Ok, I just started EQ2 yesterday after downloading the AIO RoK pack. I have played EQ1, EQOA, FFXI, WoW, UO and tons of free korean mmos. I must say that EQ2 is insanely fun.. Why did I play WoW for so long without even giving this game a chance until now? Well.. I have a few questions...1. I started a human fury on Venekor because the RP aspect along with PVP seemed fun. But then I heard in chat later than Nagafen was the PVP server to be on, if I wanted PVP. I like rp.. but PVP > RP if it comes down to which one I want to do the most. Whats the difference? and which would I be better off on? I have a fury on each right now.. around the same level. That way, whichever I decide to go with.. he's there and ready to go.2. I keep reading about level locking.. but what is it? and how do you do it? I read the stickies but I am still confused. I know in WoW. twinking consisted of just having high level toons help u gather gear, all while staying at a certain level so you could PVP with a powerful character with the best gear. 3. Whats T2 and all these numbers stand for?I know I will have more questions.. but these are the main ones for now.

It's pretty much the same here. People have high level characters and gear up low level alts (or they just buy plat). They buy the best spells, get the best equipment and turn off combat experience to stay in certain level range.

T2 stands for Tier 2. One tier = 10 levels. Tier1: 0 - 9, Tier 2: 10 - 19 and so on. T2 is the most popular tier to lock (normally people lock at 14 when they get their master 2 choice). The main reason is that it is cheaper to twink your character. There is much fuss about it because twinked players normally terrorize untwinked newbies, who have no understanding of the game mechanics.

Level locking is turning off your combat xp. Just right click your xp bar and hit the "disable xp" option. This will mean that any combat that you enter will not gain you xp. This is to help youa) Try to maximise your aa gain for your level.b) Enable you to see more of the content in the game before you outlevel it.c) Help gear yourself up to become competitive. Staying at a low level will enable you to gain enough faction to buy the pvp gear. You will still gain xp from quest turn-ins and collection turn-ins however. This is of course ONE option on the pvp servers. The other option is to level as fast as you can and then start the "gearing up" part at top end.Neither option is the correct option. What YOU want to do is the correct option. What he'll say about 10 mins into group is " I promise I WILL get you killed" :pUlv rocks tbh.

LVL locking is just to maximize your AAs for your lvl. Basically it is the same as it was in WoW, except this game gives ppl incentive to gank questers and lvlers
