Hello everyone, I am new to EQ2 and I just need a little bit of help and information to choose the right class. Back to EQ1, I was playing a Bard. ''Twisting'' 3-4 songs, buffing my groupmates and debuffing ennemies. While not being as important as the Tank and the Healer, I was not just another DPS class. I was working hard to keep 4 songs up and decide which one to play in every situation. Not a tank, not a healer, and not the one you call when you need pure damage. But a class that can turn the tide of any battle with buff and debuff. Making the Tanks live longer, the Healer heals better/longer, and the DPSer hit harder and making the ennemies weaker. I want to be the class that people invite just because they need a last person, but once I'm in, they can't live without me . Maybe a Bard or enchanter ?

Well I am new also but I would say try the song classes that are in EQ2 and see if you like it. I believe that there is one buffer and one de-buffer class but not real sure as I don't play those types of classes. Welcome and have fun

Not many people play them so many guilds are always looking for some.

Other classes like a very good tank, plate or chain wearing healers, enchanter class are also very needed...however they are the more played classes so the top guild spots tend to be filled.

In pick up groups, a good tank or healer really does 'save the day' or a bard/enchanter really does add huge huge dps...its just being a pick up group novice people don't notice much of anything except a big nuke

Get your bard, enchanter, healer, tank in a experienced guild and you will be so valued! good luck, have fun!

An enchanter is more of a "turn the tide" class. If things go awry an enchanter can mezz, stifle, stun, etc to control enemies. Even a medicre group can do well with a good enchanter. While things are normal he has mana regeneration and good damage, both of which are always appreciated.Bards are more of a constant buffer. They are wimps themselves but make everybody else look better. There's no spell twisting; group buffs are permanent. However they cannot do much if things get out of control as they have no emergency spells, except evac (Afaik the Troubadour has a short mezz too, but I'm not sure. A Dirge only has a short fear, which is useless.). Debuffs are somewhat situational. In the end it comes down to how you want to play. An enchanter is a fragile mage class that can control mobs directly. Whereas a bard is more of a melee class that constantly buffs his group. A good enchanter can help his group more than a bard in my opinion. A bard makes people a bit better, than they were before. Either class type has means of aggro control to help the tank keep aggro, which is important if the tank or DDs cannot control themselves <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />
