I usually just pop a group heal for my pet. He shouldn't be taking more than occasional damage anyway.

Here is something that you can try. I am at work so I can't verify this will work on your pet, but I use a macro like this all the time on Lifeburnering necros. /useabilityonplayer [Player] [Ability]example:/useabilityonplayer dogdog Rejuvenating RiteThere is no need to explicitly retarget when using this command which makes it very useful. When the macro completes, you will still be on your original target. Group heals work for healing the pet, but are very expensive power-wise.

I agree, they are expensive from a power perspective, but when talking about healing dogdog, you're in a solo situation, and power just isn't an issue there. The other thing to keep in mind, and you probably don't want to say this too loud, is that group heals increase your proc chances. Say you have an item that procs a power regen on a heal spell. There is a piece early in RoK like this, the name escapes me. Anyway, when you fire off a group heal on a full group of six, you get not one chance to proc the item, but six. This is not restricted to just heals, or just one item. An AE damage spell gets a chance to proc for each mob it hits.
