View Full Version : No Gorowyn status point mounts for low levels?

Why is it that every city except Gorowyn has status point purchasable mounts for low level players? The only Gorowyn SP mounts are the 2 news ones which are guild levels 70 and 80. The only other mounts people who want to stay loyal to Gorowyn can buy are straight platinum. Can we fix this please? I'd rather not move to Freeport just so I don't get shafted on a mount purchase.

I was a bit disappointed by Gorowyn as well. I know why they made rewards for guilds of that level, but how bout throwing the rest of us a bone? You know, guildies get a rhino with plate armor and spikes, the rest of us get one with a leather saddle and bit. You don't even have to make a completely new model. I feel like our faction isn't one of the harder ones to please in the player base. (QQ my rhino isn't on fire with saw blades all over his armor and a banner sticking out it's butt!)

Heck I am not asking for anything special or new I just want to be able to buy a horse for the same price EVERYONE else in every other city can 4plat plus 112,500 status points for a 40% speed mount. For Gorowyn loyal players the closest comparable mount to that is 10 plat and no status. We can get crummy low speed ones for less but why should we have to? I am kind of annoyed since I worked my butt of with their gimped and buggy 2 city writs per run system (whats with that??) to get the status needed, teach me to assume I guess..

the sadest part about it is that Kelethin had the exact same issue when it came out....

took some time, but it did eventually get fixed, so theres still hope that gorowyn citizens will be able to buy either the same mounts those form qeynos or freeport.

I was surprised and annoyed by this as well. Although Gorowyn itself is a confusing city, the housing/crafting area is the best of the evil cities IMHO. Not to mention that the newbie housing is actually pretty nice looking for a change with an actual window view I'm still contemplating buying a 24% mount or saving up for the 40% one, so it'll be a few more days before I rack up the required SP. I really hope that this gets fixed soon.

Are you speaking of the cheap mounts, that are something on the order of 2 plat w/ status? I thought I saw those for sale in Gorowyn.

All the discounted mounts that you can buy with both SP & plat are available for purchase from the Gorowyn stable master (near the docks), except that it says you need to be a citizen of Freeport, Neriak, Qeynos, or Kelethin to buy those ones. The regular more expensive ones can be bought by anyone. Meaning I can't buy a mount with SP if I'm a citizen of Gorowyn which is really strange & frustrating.

I wouldn't get my hopes up too high for this to be resolved/changed since the whole in-game mail system has been messed up for a few days and has yet to be fixed. However, for those that are facing the same predicament with the mount, here's what I did:- Spoke to the Sarnak NPC in Gorowyn close to the docks (actually inside near the stable master) and got the quest from him to move to FP- Spoke to the Sarnak NPC in West Freeport (Militia House) to become a citizen of FP (you do not need to buy housing in FP to become a citizen)- Bought the status mount from the horse vendor in West Freeport (if I'm not mistaken) next to the bank- Then went back to the Sarnak NPC in the Militia House and got a quest to become a Gorowyn citizenI haven't actually gone back there (gonna move to Neriak instead with the rest of my toons), but I assume that it would be just as easy to go back to Gorowyn and become a citizen again. Note that my house and house items are still in Gorowyn, and that I did not (and you should not) buy a house in FP if you're planning on going back to Gorowyn to save yourself the trouble of redecorating again (FP houses are way too ugly for my taste, who says you can't be evil and have good taste?!).Hope this helps.

But the real question is can you even use the mount when you get back to Gorowyn citizenship? The item clearly states you have to be a citizen of one of the older cities to use it.This is a really annoying bug that should have been fixed in beta, but i guess everyone was too busy with exploring the new T8 content while riding on their new lvl 70 rhinos to notice it, and now it seems to be on the "can be done later" list.

It's not just the mounts. As far as I know Gorowyn natives have can't also buy stuff from city merchants because they're not from one of the "evil cities". I couldn't find a city merchant in Gorowyn and went to Freeport and "must be a citizen of Freeport or Neriak" was stamped all over them. Same with a lot of quests...need to be a citizen of Freeport or Neriak.

One person said this kind of thing happened with the launch of Kelethin and if so that makes it even worse. The point of making mystakes in the first place is to not make the exact same one later.

Either way I hope all this gets fixed soon. I'm a warden and never use a mount but I have played classes that would need them, and not being able to get them because of a status bug that should never have been there would annoy me too.

I believe the citizenship issue has been fixed, and will be going out with GU41. There were a number of places where vendors/quests/etc were set to check for citizens of specific cities and were changed instead to isGood or isEvil, to prevent this same sort of thing from happening in the future

I love the response I got from the petition about this:Response (GM [name removed to protect boneheadedness]) 12/03/2007 02:59 AM Greetings,Thank you for contacting the EverQuest II in-game support.I understand that you are not able to purchase status point mount being a citizen of Gorowyn. Please be informed that status point mounts are only for the citizens of Freeport. If you have any suggestions, feel free to summit feedback on our official webpage.----Do they even take the time to read the petitions? What about oh Qeynos, Kelethin, and Neriak? Maybe he missed those when he took the time to check the mount items... really... no seriously I KNOW he took the time to look.... ok stop laughing now.... At least the 2nd response I got said to submit a feedback they can't forward info to dev's... so useful.
