Lvl 38 SK with Reaver

I just hit level 38 (almost 39) last night and have 38 AA's and went 4-4-8 Int, then down reaving to Reaver and now i'm going down the STR line.  I popped on the reaver ability yesterday and went to complete some quests in Steamfont Mountains.  Pulling the first few mobs I noticed I was losing a heck of a lotta HP's (waaay more than usual) and here I was spamming my spells.  I also noticed that if I timed my attacks like I had learned so well to do (to get in auto attacks) that I couldn't possibly heal myself fast enough with reaver to justify the 1% damage a tick.So I ask you all for advice now.  Is level 38 just too low to use reaver?  I'm able to solo yellow cons and barely lose any health the entire fight.  I have both 1h/shield and 2h weapon combos that both yield the same results for me.  My gear is master crafted/mix and (in my opinion) fine for my level.  So what gives?When would reaver EVER be worth using if it's kicking my butt more than the mob?  I use it and I come out around 60% hp after a fight.  I don't use it and I'm nearly full Hp.  I'll admit right now that I could be missing something obvious.  Am I missing something?  Thanks for any replies.

<p>It shouldn't matter how low a level you are since it is a percentage based reduction. It would scale the same whether you had 1k hp's or 10k hp's.</p><p> Be sure you are using your blessing line (at 39 it's "Infernal Pact", upgraded at 40 btw) when you are wading into battle. There is no reason you should be ending fights with such low hp's unless you are taking on heroics.</p>

I always have blessing on and even recast it in combat.  I don't take heroics ever really. Maybe my regen isn't good enough?  I'm not sure why reaver is kicking my butt.

I have about 210 intel and 170 stam.  I probably just need better regen or something.  I'm now level 40 with a new blessing.  Hopefully that will make a difference.
