Haven't played since before EoF. Fired up my account this week and put a little time into my 70 Defiler.Have we had any nerfage over the last 12 months or so ? Just seems to be a little missing. Am I wrong or is dog dogs big damage proc not happening any more ?

No real nurfs. Defilers are top of the food chain as far as healers are concerned.

Beside RoK the only change in the laste few month were the revamp of the KoS tree (with some improvments in the EoF one too).In the KoS tree one the str line uses doggy. The others are "dog free".

When did they do this ?See it here btw :<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.eq2ref.com/aa/index.php?class=Shaman" target="_blank">http://www.eq2ref.com/aa/index.php?class=Shaman</a>
<p>I was really pleased with the change to the wisdom tree because the lower cool-down time really helps on heals when the tank is taking heavy damage. The change may have lowered our dps a bit but it bumped up some healing in exchange, which is our bread and butter. There are still a couple of good damage aa lines, int had a very nice damage spell added, if that is your interest. Also mystics got a boost to dogdog in their combat art class line.</p><p>I would say that templars are still on top of the food chain for healing, nor would I want our class to have that position. I tried to roll one once, but the back story and mechanics for a templar is just less interesting to me. I like the way that we do a good job on our heals without bringing too much attention to ourselves.</p>

If you are looking for DPS you might want to consider int-B (double DoT) and int-C (spell critt)

It takes an exceptional Templar to heal ( prevent damage ) better then a Defiler. I have 70 Defiler, Templar, Fury, Warden, and raid with all of them. I am often chosen for Templar because I narrow the gap to our other Defiler. We have had alot of other Templars try out, but none came close to the Defiler.
Aye, we will always top the raid parse due to the nature of our heals. I was under the impression that the OP was more concerned with normal grouping since he was concerned about the DPS output of dogdog. For normal grouping templars still held in the highest of regard. I don't normally pug, but a couple of times I joined a pug to help out a guildy in distress and found that there were group members that didn't even know I was a healer.

You get that too? <img src="http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/images/smilies/97ada74b88049a6d50a6ed40898a03d7.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" /> Group a week ago was looking for healer after I joined. Thought I was a bard I guess.
