I read in another post that when dual wielding you want to try to match the delays of your weapons up. However, I am wondering if high delay or low delay weapons are better? Or does it even make a difference with dual wield?

The reason it is better to have weapons of the same delay is this - to get the maximum dps from autoattack, you need to time your CAs so that autoattack goes off as much as possible. That said, trying to be careful of two seperate autoattack counters is very difficult... especially with flucuating speed buffs from procs, etc. It's MUCH easier to have two weapons of the same delay, so you only have to worry one timer.

As far as low/high delay... the sweet spot used to be 4.0, but now it may be closer to 3.0 with the built-in delay for dual wield... I'll leave that answer to the min maxers

I realize this is an old post, but I'm a new Swashbuckler.. just made the class my main. Got a weaponsmith alt I can tinker with as I find Rares, so is crafting two of the same weapon with a delay I stated the best plan of action as I move along?

I am trying to learn the timing of my character as I solo, having to force myself to keep my hand off the CA's long enough to see what is going on.

Thanks a TON for any advice!

My rule of thumb is to fire 3 CA's and then wait 1 second for autoattack. If I use haste, it's around 2 CA's before autoattack. It takes some getting used to as it varies depending on cast times, but that's the general principle. That was before the last game update though... If you run profit ui, they recently released a new feature that gives you a bar showing when you are about to autoattack... it makes things SO much easier to time out, and my dps has tightened up pretty well now that I have a visual indication. It's worth checking out.
