Folks, with the Kunark expansion, you have got to take another look at Charm animal. For PvP, it can make all the difference. My friend plays a melee-specced warden, while I play a caster one. The other day, we decided to try out charm animal since we'd spent the points for the bonus heals anyway. Talking to a cohercer buddy of ours, he clued us in to the best mobs in each zone.OMG where has this ability been all my toon's life!?!?!? Since we were two wardens we could overlap our missing abilities sacrificed for the three concentration slots and still have all our buffs while running around with our pets. So far, these are the best pets we found in the first two zones.Plains - The ravager seems hands above better than any other pet we could find. We were surprised that charm animal could even work on this werewolf-type mob, especially since the spider-elves are immune. Ravagers seem to be the hardest hitting and have the best hit points.Fens - Folks, if you're pvping in the Fens and tired of farmers running away from you, go get yourself one of those panther-looking prowlers. With SOW, they can run down most runners, and they have a stun/knockdown that procs a LOT. Not to mention as they chew on your prey's hindquarters it more than makes up for the fact that we cannot range attack on the run. This pet can keep them dazed around sokokar posts, too, and we lost count of how many people died who would have gotten away, all because of this beautiful little kitty. This is how I set up my pets now:Give my pet the buff for attack, spores and sowKeep thorns and aspect of bat for myself (for pvp)There are other zones in this expansion we haven't explored yet. Keeping PvP in mind, let's start a thread on what creatures in these zones can be charmed, and what help most in pvp (rooting, snaring, knockdown, ranged attacks and so on).

..now just waiting for the Nerf to it. Thanks. I hate to be a wet blanket to your glee over this ability, but any time we carry on about how uber something is we can do - especially in PvP - it gets nerfed into oblivion.

It's also not to my benefit to discuss exactly how you can kill me in PvP - assuming I'm on the other side or an Exile.

Just sayin'.

We finally, FINALLY have an expansion where we can use the [Removed for Content] ability, and now I get the feeling we're gonna get screwed by PvP again =/

Wardens are buffing fanatics, we lose a lot sacrificing three buffs. As to the fellow who wants to keep all his uber pvp moves secret, well, if that's what you need to stay ahead go for it. I'm trying to hook up my fellow player, and if a Q or exile uses one of these tricks on me that's what I deserve =POK, from my research Ravagers are still tops in Kylong Plains. A lot of folks have been howling about the Dirtsniffers in the Fens, but I still prefer the Prowlers, as they knock back and stun a lot. We're still testing in Kuzark Jungle, but some of the better ones we've found:Tatterback gorillas - hit like a mac truck, good for dpsLeeches - scout like, they also hit hard, and they have an AOE that procs a lot, but be careful they'll aggro everything around them.

They don't have anywhere near the protections and other abilities Wardens do like, heals. Pvp'ers already hate that a healer can heal, and Wardens are viewed as overpowered on PvP servers. I can see Coercers NOT being nerfed, I can see us getting it.This is from experience, not just crying that the sky is falling, but w/e

You certainly have a point there, and with as much nerfing as SOE loves to do, your fear is probably justified. But some of us from EQ1 were REALLY missing our Beast Master (a buddy of mine has even refused to play EQ2 until they bring that class back), and this AA line gives us a bit of that feel back. I think that was the intent. If so, personally I say bravo!!! I don't think of Psycher as a warden anymore, but a Beast Master, following in the footsteps of his ancestors from ancient times.

The com's caller wasps in the jungle are nice for pvp. They have knockbacks and stifles and a casting debuff that slows cast speed by 50%.

I tried one, but seemed to me he threw debuffs and specials way too infrequently. Then again, I didn't test him against another player, perhaps I should give this one more testing...

Yeah, since cricket tore me up the other day. I have tried the charm pet, and has worked out alot. Plus with your pet kill mobs you can save your health for those qs out there lookin for a quick kill.

The birds in the jungle work well too, knockback and stuns.

I'm kinda favoring the Tatterback Gorilla in the jungle atm. They seem pretty dumb (don't break charm often if white con or under), have lots of HP, and they hit pretty [Removed for Content] hard. Nothing special in their attacks, but good, dependable dps.I think the Leeches are still king for group PvP, with their AOEs.

Charm ... another junk with bugs from soe maybe give some fun and allowed to lvl up faster but useless in pvp - you cant cure arcane you cant use our most powerfull curing spell because it breaks charm. Try to fight brigand that debuff charm ... your own pet will attack you automaticly....probably pumice stone also pull it down.

charm fun but for short time...

Select target, mash the macro to send your pet in, then you can actually focus on healing. For those classes that interrupt and stifle a lot, a taunting pet, combined with some of the Kunark deagrro gear (when casting heals), is one sweet combo.Who hasn't been in a PvP fight where you'd love to fight but were too busy healing the insane DPS thrown your way? Pets give wardens more aggressive options. You do have a point with the charm breaking, however... I've lost a few fights simply because my pet was suddenly helping the enemy grrr. A coercer buddy of mine suggested getting +Subjugation gear. His coercer has many bonuses, and he can now charm orange heroics with no fear of them breaking, but haven't had a chance to try this for myself yet.Oh, and for Jarsith Wastes, the sabertooth cat right at zone-in has great knockdown power for PvP.
