What are good uses for this?

It takes power to trigger, the range is very small, and you could end up nuking something you really don't want to nuke. On top of that, the damage isn't that great.

Am I missing some point to it that makes it very useful?

the point of infusion is to do dmg every time you cast a benificial spell ... the list is pretty big

It includes spells like Natures Ally,Sand storm,Natures blade(from the druid str line) mana stone, all cures, heals , death prevention, ward, buffs

The down side is the range of it , its about 10-15 meters as far as i can tell (i dont have in game tape measure)

That means it procs onto the closest mob within that range (non agro mobs also), not your target or your targets target (thats what the aoe means in the descript)

The huge benefit from it is that it procs once per group member when you cast a group beneficial spell (including pets that have a pet bar ... no swarm pets, or your tree) ... although the tree procs as a group spell i think

So if you were in a full all pet class group , and you charmed a pet , it would proc 12 times per group beneficial spell that you cast.

1 proc X12= 2400 per cast

From the numbers ive seen ...its 200+ per proc on average at 300 int lvl 70.

Although latley with Rok, it looks like they increased the spread, and i think it is still subject to the spell crit chance

Im guessing the dmg it does is magic , same as the hammer hit in the same line.

hope this helps

Its funny how mentoring can skew your perceptiion

Ive been tanking for a lvl 35 wizzy , working on getting her demorte quest done(vamp spell)

we had a 37 guard come and help us out tonight, of course they have better mit, but it seemed like we get it done just as good with me tanking with my mele/caster hybrid (i have good gear ....kos raid stuff)

I have to mention the time she died, and i faught through it and lived , the one thing i noticed was that i was able to kill the multi mobs due to my infusion. I was standing on top of one of them, switch target, then kill this one, I always use my mele aoe when its up(thats how i keep agro) and switch target , drop dot and dawgs on one of them .... but the point is ... my infusion was killing who ever i was standing on top of, it was great ... then hit aoe and drop em all(checking their health of course) but do you see what i mean? you have multi mobs, put dot&dawgs on 1, stand on another for the infusion, and target another with mele, Aoe em when ever its up.... i like to finish HO's with the aoe , but also , i have the cappilarian , so i try to HO one mob till that debuff is done.. oh jeeze im rambleing ... lol

trying to remember my point , I think it was that infusion is [Removed for Content] awesome ...

As a Fury specced for DPS, on raids Infusion can sometimes account for up to 20% of my total damage output, on a par with Thunderbolt, Starnova and my DoTs. Like others have said, it procs once for every beneficial spell you cast on a group member...group heals, group buffs..even fae fire and pact of the cheetah (obviously fury only)...not familiar enough with warden spells to know what will trigger it. It is VERY power hungry, so when in DPS mode I will use my very early group heals (lvl14) to activate it. I pretty much only use it in raids though...or PvP. If im doing heroic content im usually having to heal more so I ditch it. It's not an effective or efficient method of doing damage unless you're going full out, and it uses too much power if you use your current group heals. I get more dps from my DoTs and thunderbolt then I do for infusion, so only use it when my timers are down...and I suspect any Warden NOT melee specced is unlikely to ever go full out DPS (just guessing there).

hmmm ... interesting to hear the fury side of it ... useing it as a warden (with mele) i cant imagine a ranged healer spec'd warden ever finding it very usefull , Yes its not a mainstay of dps for sure, but its a nice additive to the mele dmg , cuz your going to have to heal anyways , and its range is better used up close ... it procs from natures blade in the druid str line, and you get another mele hit from the druid int line(nice combo for mele/caster hybrid ... I use a pwr feed adornment on my weapon , seems to keep me from having pwr issues ... also did you notice infusion procing on your manastone ... i need to check all the other activateables to see if anything else like that procs it.

I am a noob that doesn't have manastone I really should get on thatAlso it's probably worth noting that wardens are generally more power efficient than furys anyway so the extra power costs of infusion is probably worth the extra damage.TBH I have never parsed the effect Infusion has on my dps when soloing..I should probably do that.
