The game was running just fine for over a year but ever since installing RoK (the retail version) the game instantly crashes in Kylong Plains anytime I go near Teren's Grasp. It crashes regardless eventually, but when I go near Teren's Grasp it is guaranteed to crash everytime with an "application ran out of memory" error.I have tried turning my graphics settings all the way down to high performance and i've tried a few other tweaks and it still doesn't fix the problem, and even then I still get constant hiccups when i'm in the new zones. Everywhere else i'm basically fine. My machine is more then capable of handling this game...Athlon 64 FX 552GB Kingston HyperXRadeon x1800xt 512mbetc...I don't have any custom UI's installed or anything else....only eq2mapsI can't play the expansion at all as long as this problem exists.....so I basically just paid $40 for a nice EQ2 paperweight <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />It's not my PC....it's the game, countless other people have told me they have the same issue, plus I have 30 some other PC games on my computer and not one of them....not even Crysis (the most hardware demanding game on the market) gives me any problems/crashes/hiccups. So why does EQ2 continue to be so problematic after 3 years?

I pretty much know why it's happening, but I'm boggled as to why there is no official fix from SOE yet to this rather simple problem. Anyway, refer to the following thread for instructions on how to correct the problem.http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=394576I'm working on an easier solution for those less technically inclined. If it does work out for you, please say so and include your complete system specs. Thanks.

Well, i can't tell you how to fix it but i can guarantee you the response you will get for your post by many. It'll start off with several "experts" telling you that you "need to follow forums rules and post your DXDiag results", claiming that NOTHING can be done until you have done this. After you have done that, you wont hear a word back from anyone... possibly a GM will post, reprimanding the various others who have commented in the mean time out of angst, empathy or simply the self-righteous fanboys who have indeed drank the cool-aid and believe the game is functioning as intended and nothing is wrong. Ultimately, this post, like so many others, will remain unaddressed, go unresolved and get buried under a dozen other posts just like it... all of which will suffer the same fate.

Even though you played the game of doing as you were asked and posting the bs DXDiag results, it'll never get addressed on the forum and the most you will have done is made a few happy by allowing them the chance to slam you with the "You have to follow the forum rules or your issue will not get resolved." Ironically, every post i have seen where someone posted their DXDiag results suffered the aforementioned fate.

/lines his official $40 SOE RoK Paper weight up along with Abs. Anyone else want to add to the collection?
