I left the game about 5 months before the changes to dual wield. At that time I was using wis/agil. After coming back I decided to try str/agil a go just for kicks and notcied that my DPS was about the same (Maybe slightly higher) then it was with agil / wis. The big question now that ROK is out is if the ability to get the best DPS AA's from str and agil while capping out the wis line, Is a single weapon now going to edge out dual wielding? There are a few 4.0 delay master crafted weapons that also give non raiding swashies a chance to get something more suited to the wis. I'm really wondering is the wis line is the way to go once again.
I am sticking to WIS line, currently I am using Clearcutter (3 second delay):-STR:- 4448AGI:- 47482WIS:- 46482This is my full 70 point allotment to the KoS linesI am basing my DPS on matching delays to casting speeds, so only changes I will make will be drop Coule for Swipe when raiding starts again and drop Sailwind for Coule if I start using a 4 second delay weapon

I'm pretty torn, but for raiding, definately leaning toward str, agi and wis, maxing crits, avast ye, and double attack. For finale AAs I'd probably take Coule and Traumatic Swipe.

I also kinda wouldn't mind having stamina though. At one point we'll be able to save two AA specs, and I think for that I will save str/agi/sta or str/sta/wis. (defense bonus at the end of wis is just nifty :p)

Post-RoK, I've gone 4-4-4- str, then maxed out the sta and wis lines. I suppose I could have gone agi to max out my dps, but I end up soloing or duoing alot, and the extra hp from sta and avoidance (yes, wis yields more avoidance than agi) from wis rock for me.
My Swashie (currently level 58 ) is 4-4-7-8 in STR and 4-8-4-8-1 in WIS. When she hits level 70 I will change them a little so that I can get the end ability in either INT or AGI. Since I primarily solo I'm leaning towards Feign. Although Walk the Plank, Avast Ye and Sailwind are also nice. All these decisions..

The reason I am having a hard time choosing I think is weapon delay. wis/agil/str seems like a really nice combo with a high delay weapon when raiding but since raiding is only about 20 percent of my game play I am worried how it will perform for grouping and soloing. There are several 4.0 delay master crafted weapon at 72. My concern though is that while those would probably work great when having a ton of haste while raiding, I am thinking the 4.0 delay without raid type haste buffs would actually be detrimental to DPS. A lower delay somewhere in the range of 3.0 would probably help to fix that but of course that is the only delay that the new master crafted weapon DON'T cover.
If you are not going over 100% haste self buffed then you need to revisit your skills and gear.Haste item = about 23% (depending on item)Ring Proc = 24%Bravado proc = 61% at adept 3this itself is 108 haste which from memory is just over the 100% actual haste mark, this is what makes your 4 second delay weapon optimal for str/agi/wis (without Sailwind) and a 3 second delay weapon optimal for the same lines but with Sailwind, raid haste buffs actually do very little for a Swashy cause our self buff is already above well above the diminishing returns curve

My understanding of the mechanics is honestly not very good. Thanks for the info!

I noticed a few of you mention Str/sta/wis build for small grouping. I play 95 percent of the time as the main tank in a group. From level 30 to 69 i was full spec'd in str/sta for tanking. It wasnt until we started parsing DPS that i started to look into other AA builds. I switched over to Str/wis, and my DPS went through the roof. Also my healer (who just happens to sit in the same room) said she noticed very little difference in my tanking. The only problem i had was keeping agro off the ranger or warlock in the group when we had mutliple mobs.

So my question is what are you gaining by going str/sta/wis? without a shield you loose all the shield bonuses the sta line gives, and with a shield you loose all the DA and Riposte bonuses the wis line gives. So what benefit is having both lines? And if you did this would you even bother with a shield?

Now i could see going Str 4/4/7/6/ Agi 4/6/4/8/2 Sta 4/4/8/6/2. This would be nice because you can go with Dual wield when you need dps, then switch to shield if you need to tank. However once they release the ability to switch between different AA builds, then it wont matter. Just go with Str/agi/wis when you need dps, and Str/agi/sta when you need defense.

I personally was looking at str4/4/8/6/2 Wis4/4/6/8/2 Agi 4/8 Sta 4/5 This would give me the AoE taunt and walk the plank in order to get all my back attacks off when im tanking.

I am similar to most builds discussed (one handed) Wis build with Str for Melee crits and AGI for Avast Ye.

But what I did is too some of my left over points to get one point in Boot Dagger (Int line). I love the extra free chance for a quick stealth to steath attack damage.
