Is it viable and good to lock combat experience and just pvp and level up through questing? Will this help you to have better equipment to pvp and pve better in the long run? Now that they upped the experience from quests is it a viable pure alternative for leveling well?

Yes it is a good idea to lock to gain more AA per any given level, and to acquire PVP gear earlier.

But it's up to you many people SAY they dislike twinks/lockers. But I have yet to hear one complain when they group with me, and we take out those darn Q's!!!!

Well they said they just buffed quest xp rewards. I am hoping doing it this way would not be too insanely slow?

"too insanely" is very subjective, but it certainly is "too insanely" slow for my criteria. Also because locking exp and only questing will still leave you at the mercy of groups of twinks who not only have done the same, but have a lot of plat to spend, either because of higher lev chars or because of ebayed plat. So, if you want to be pvp competitive, you need to also spend a decent amount of time harvesting/tradeskilling or whatever else you like to do for plat.
