Another D/L Problem

Have not seen this mentioned here, while downloading the patch, the time goes up!  The download bar is going forward, but the time is getting longer.  I went to bed last night with a 3 hour d/l and woke up today and had 2228 hours to go.  I restarted d/l and had an hour to go, checked later and it was up to 9 hours.  any ideas?  no this is not vista.

<p>happening to me too though i tend to be stuck in perminent 11 to 13 hour range and the blue and orange bar wiggle back and forth a tiny bit but dont get longer with time - even five days now. is it the same file that is listed as currently downloading? for me its one of the .VPK files.....</p><p>exp04_rgn_kylong_plains.vpk  is the one that keeps hanging for me. how bout you?</p>

I'd take that bet. This is *NOT* only a vista issue. There are issues involved that are only vista-related, but the main repetitive downloading/crashing problems are not.

My GF has been playing the trial of the Fae on Vista for about a week now with no issues. I got the ROK this weekend, installed on her laptop and used the buddy code so she could play with me. That all went fine until the patcher. Seeing the same issue for her as many others.....Patcher stops on a .vpk file and says either DL complete or cancelled. I tried to do a work around by deleting the file it stopped on , then restart the download. That worked, it redownloaded the file moved on and then would stop on another file. I don;t know how long i deleted /reran but it was over 2 hours. Still couldn't get the [Removed for Content] thing to get all files. I got frustrated and just decided to have her run the fae trial again. Well, that didn't work either. So, i ran the game as admin and boom it starts to download all the files. But this same solution didnt work for ROK.There is obviously more going on here than with Vista. Dammit SOE, please respond to the forums and tell us what is going on. A little communication would be nice. I know for me, that at least if you acknowledge you are working on the issue, it will make me stop running in circles and have a bit of hope.

<p><b>THIS IS NOT A  VISTA ISSUE ALONE. I run xp and I'm getting hung up on vpk's. I'm surprised that SOE hasn't posted a simple fix by now or at least a start to a work around. I didn't even buy the expansion either in store or online and I'm having issues with just the update patch. This is just ridiculous for the size of company that it is. I transfered from playing AO, much smaller company and their customer support to problems is amazing. Very rarely are there disturbed/disappointed customers. Don't think I even want to buy the expansion now if I'm having probs with d/l of update patch already. I don't want to even imagine what trouble others are having who have the expansion. </b></p><p><b>~PFFT~~fix the problem already. </b></p>

The vpaks are really big too... they are 20 mb plus on some of them... maybe we should try to set up an alternative place to download them from?
