I can't recall when I went personally, but my daughter had her necro in Tenebrous Tangle yesterday and seemed to be doing rather well (dinged 53 and 54 in the couple hours she was on.) There are a number of repeatable quests in the initial areas that net a pretty decent amount of coin and aren't that difficult to do. Just make sure you go to Irontoe's East Tavern in North Qeynos (next to the South Qeynos gate) and talk to a ranger there to get the starter for the Claymore quest before you go.

Tenebrous Tangle is a good suggestion.  The repeatable basket quests for local non-aggro wildlife in particular are good for xp and cash.  The mobs are 56-57.  Also do the collectable quests (especially from the doctor) from the npcs in the Hidden Refuge at the bottom of the waterfall.
