Since the patch my pet has been lagging behind me when I am on my carpet. It is slow to get started moving after I run and doesn't ever seem to really catch up until I stop.

Now, i admit that I have been in KP most of the time, but even when there are under 50 folks in the zone the pet still lags.

Anyone else notice pet slowness?

peace,

Deathlily, 71 Necro of Mistmoore

Yeah this is an overall problem in the new zones. I guess the geometry is a little much for their pathing algorithms.

That said... I personally have started casting call servant before any combat, just in case... and I use it alot while I'm running around, just to make sure it doesn't get lost or too far behind me.

funny you mention that..I started doing the same thing last night.

And what was Sony thinking giving everyone a uselss pet that flies around behind them. I never cast that thing but TONs of folks do. Thanks for the extra lag!

Is that really THAT hard to fix this by making the pet always be no more than 10m away from the owner, and if for any reason it is any further just auto-port it close. I don't care if this is not realistic, but this problem is 3 y. old and it is still not fixed.

OK summoners get Call Servant, fine - but what about chanters? Even in small zones, my illusion always stops following me from time to time, and I had situation when it ended up half zone away from me, and it took the pet over a minute to get to me after I stop.

SOE fix this crap ffs... first of all, fire the dev resposible for the pet following - this problem is consistently reported for 3 years now and it never gets fixed.

This problem is so simple to reproduce, even a baby can do it. Take illy, cast its illusion, hit auto-run, don't push any other buttons just run forward - and watch the pet following you for some time, then stop following in about 10-15 sec and just standing there doing nothing.

This really is disappointing and frustrating..we shouldn't have to rely on 'call servant'.

The run speed of pets needs to be set at about 200%, obviously reduced if in combat. It's bad enough that I have to watch my master I tank pet convluse like a seizured kid while approaching a target..

It is due to the massive server strain the influx of players has caused.

the thing that i find annoying is if i outrun it by a lot and then call it up to me so that i can send it on a target after i call and have it attack it runs in the direction i came from then runs up and hits the mob.

There are 3 issues I am currently having with the pet:

1. I will hit pet attack and it will say the affirmative "you send your pet into attack!" or whatever.. then my pet will act like it is waiting for Godot and just stand there next to me... for however long we're both chilling there.. I have to then press the attack button 2 or 3 more times with same msg to get him to go in.

2. I'll send him into attack (sometimes opening with a slow spell or maybe a root since that will heal him in tainted heals line) then he turns and runs the completely opposite direction.. he's run a good full minute in reverse before returning (Call servant does not fix this since he'll just path the same again).. can u say "I hope my FD is up"?.

3. THe usual pet issue of not matching my current mount's run speed. Ok I can understand it for the scout ( a little.. but shouldn't he have pathfinding and not laggin too far behind) and the mage... but my new tank pet has a wicked horse in overland zones.. I really think at least he should be able to keep up.. especially if I get the m1 and he's on a frakin nightmare horse.

I've seen some pretty weird pet pathing especially in Skyfire. I would send my pet out to pull back a mob and sometimes the pet would get lag-stuck on the side of a crater. Then suddenly it would vanish and appear a lot further away down the zone heading to the target mob.
