...for messing up my desktop pc.Since the last attempt to start EQ2 my con to the complete Internet has become corrupted,it is ultra slow now, even a new install of my DSL access software doesnt help anymore.I have to say this is a new height in SOE`s history of releasing unfinished, buggy patches.Every malware, trojan, virus etc. out there is better,at least they let me use the internet.

I love how this is somehow EQ2's fault.

<p>Do you know how ridiculous this sounds?</p><p>EQ2 did not cause your "con to the complete internet to [sic] become corrupted."</p><p>Read something about how TCP/IP works before you make these kinds of claims. It will help you avoid looking foolish.</p><p>If you actually have a technical problem that you want to troubleshoot in a reasonable manner, rather than throwing around nonsensical aspersions, I suggest posting the details of your experience in the Tech Support forum.</p>

I'm sorry but two things incorrect here.1. This is not the Tech Support forum2. The game will not ever affect your internet connection (unless you got a company like ComCast which is being sued as we speak in a class action for interfering with bandwidth)

Ahhh the good old days. Technology marches on but stupidity appears to be a universal constant.

<cite>Spyderbite@Venekor wrote:</cite><blockquote>Whenever I played Zork or Myth my coffee maker and vhs player would go on the fritz! XD</blockquote>Well, there is a perfectly good reason for this. Coffee makers emit residual grounds resonances, which can be drawn by the magnetic heads of a VCR. Ordinarily this isn't a problem, but there is a Mailbox signiture in Zork that doesn't react well with the grounds flow. Myth also is full of Thrall and Mauls which can affect the grounds flow in a similar way.

Of course back then we used to have trams running up and down the middle of the street and children used to get sent up chimneys.......ahhh the good old days!

When I'm playing, somehow the bottom of the coffee pot comes up altogether too frequently. Seems that EQ2 creates some sort of 'black hole' that the coffee drains into. <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/908627bbe5e9f6a080977db8c365caff.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

<p>I have an explanation for both the connectivity and the coffee problem. You guys clearly have never put a sniffer on your network while eq2 is patching.</p><p> there is a well-known hex string in eq2.exe "f33dc0ffee" that nukes the connection and turns on the coffee pot every time. Get with it OMG.</p>

This takes me on a journey to... my job! There's nothing like the thrill of answering a tech-support call from a customer who is livid to the point of complete incoherence because they're convinced that a mouse or keyboard was responsible for killing their 7-year-old pentium 2 E-Machine. Thank goodness for that handy dandy "MUTE" button so they don't have to listen to me cracking up laughing directly into their ears!
