I want to try practically all of the classes in the game - but don't have the time (or slots...), so to help could I get an idea of when each of the following classes 'come into their own'? i.e. get their signature skills, or become the power-house they promised to be.e.g. Bruiser to me = lvl 14 and feign deathFury to me = lvl 23 and encounter wide nukePlease add in any classes and a summary of why a particular level (or amount of AAs) fills out or defines a class.Thanks,Siden.

Well I play a necro and I would say at least 32 for them, because thats when you get your scout pet and then have all 3 (tank, mage, scout), but really in the 50's because you get so many cool abilities is when you REALLY develop into what a necro can be. At 50 with Lich you basically stop running out of power, and at 48 you get combat rez. Also for a brig at 50 with devitalize and 55 with dispatch you really become the best dubuffer in the game. I know thats kinda late to say you have to play a character to see what it's like but thats when you get the sweet skills.

This is kind of a difficult question. A quick answer is usually level 29, based on how the classes were assigned at launch.

When the game first came out, you would choose one of four archetypes: figher, healer, scout, or mage. At level 9, you would do a quest series that would end in you choosing your class (so in the case of healer, for instance, you'd choose cleric, shaman or druid). After completing that quest series, you would ding 10. The same thing at 19, where you would do a quest series and choose your subclass. This is still seen in tradeskilling, though they phased it out of the adventure classes a long time ago.

Even though the system was scrapped, there wasn't a whole lot changed about the spell and art structures. Clerics are pretty much the same until they get past level 20. Same for hunters, enchanters, summoners, etc. While there is a little bit of specialization now that wasn't there at launch (i.e., you can get plate armor lower than level 20 now - used to be chain was the best you could get until then), each individual class doesn't really start showing its true colors until well after level 20.

Personally, I didn't get everything that makes my class individual and unique until around level 50. Even then, there are specials that show up in the 60s.

Your best bet is to figure out what you like to do the most: melee? nuke? heal? be in charge? stay back and fight at range? toe-to-toe? support? huge damage?

Once you get a feel for what you find the most fun, read over the class descriptions and spell lists. That should give you a good feel for what that class's roles, strengths and weaknesses are, and you can choose based on your preferences.

Or you could just try them all.

For a soloing mystic, it is dependent on your AAs -- it takes around 25-30 to complete your Mystic Combat AA line and get the Shaman AGI AA line up to at least the melee crit AA (which can go to 100%). Until then, you are reliant on spells to do damage and spells require a high INT. Mystics buff for STR (which CAs like), not INT (which spells like), so when you are able to switch to CAs, you will see a <strike>noticeable</strike> major increase in your damage output. Fights which used to drag on are now done quickly. The 100% melee crit also helps and it lets you crit every swing on autoattack and on all your CAs.

I think the fury is defined earlier around level 10, but for surethe first fire nuke and the first area of effet nuke change a bit the class making t more offensive.I could see the difference between fury and warden in the newbie area .. The 20ish nuke appear as a sharp change only because when you get them your other offensive skills are a bit old. I got a similar feeling when i obtained the level 29 heal over the time, it is very strong when you get itbut you won't get another for several levels. For the enchanter i would say the class is defined when you get your 1st area mezz skill.Saying level 1 is a kind of exageration, i think that to get an idea you should at leats go to a dungeon, get some aas and see the talent trees. So basically around 20.
