Better then even rain gear? I've heard reports of characters level locking themselves just they can twink the hell out of themselves with pvp reward kill and gank and deciment anyone easily in their level range and that raid gear simply doesn't compare...

Is this true? Cause I'mm all good with pvp gear being a viable alternative, it takes a hell of a lot to optain as is! I don't think it should blow all the other gear at that level range right out of the water though if that's truly the case. PvP and PvE gear should be balanced. Just cause I am on the PvP server doesn't mean I want to dedicate 100% of my time to pvp just so I can be on par with other pvpers... who would also be far tougher in pve questing.

Most of what you posted is a statement. Of course pvp gear is better during pvp, and funnily enough, pve gear is better during pve. Why wouldnt that be the case? I have 4 sets of armour to change between, none pvp but I do OK during pvp. A fellow SK in pvp gear will kick my [Removed for Content] every time, but thats his reward for all those hours pvping. What else would you expect? A 4 hour raid to get a fabled item should not be as powerful as a 12 hour pvp run to get a single pvp item.

Those that are at the top of the pvp chain usually have both raid items and pvp gear, as well as maxed AA and adornments. It's not just pvp gear that gives advantage, if they have pvp gear, chances are they have the other items list above as well.

In EOF fully fabled raid geared exile was stronger than fully pvp geared toon. Pvp items get some nice pvp effects however especially the ROK ones. But who will be geared first? the pvpers or the raiders? seeing as onyx are lvling very fast and will be in raid gear soon, and each pvp item is 300-400 tokens and the set pieces arent in yet.

Galoro

I think Galoro is right. Exiles will win this round too, most likely. And I still think 300-400 tokens pr piece is a tad much, that's gonna be difficult for classes without track.

PvP gear is not the best, high end raid gear is better. But some pvp gear are better for pvp, due to pvp designed items.

Raid gear is at the level cap, so players using it will be there too...

The only raid gear you can buy while not at level cap is the T5 raid stuff, which is mostly better than PvP gear. There are also a few other pieces dotted around the tiers (level 20 stuff, level 30-35)
