Now with more potential points, not to mention an upgrade to mana sieve, is it worth puting 5 points into reduced casting time for Mana Sieve?

No. Mana Sieve and its upgrade are a collective slap in the face.

I just hit 52 last night and had to log out because it was late so I didn't get a chance to play with it but it does look like a cool spell. I was kinda figuring it was like Devour Vitae but on the mana side and I use Devour Vitae as soon as its available.

I've got nothing else I really want to put it in, so mana sieve will be one of my last AA's.

The amount benifet the player gains from mana seive makes most SKs beleave that it's not worth casting. The implimintation isn't about you gaining mana it's more about draining mana from the mob, fights are so quick in this game that draining a mobs mana is useless.

The mana gains from this spell are also pretty insignificant and are barely going to make in impact in your fight. There are a lot better aa's to put your points into.

Most times when I cast it it's because all my other abilities are down and I want to try and get a spell proc off .

I removed it off hotkey list long time ago and never used it ever since.. Never missed it a bit at all..

Mana Sieve is useless in raids and groups but it can help you out in solo, in those hard situations where you are fighting without power

Unless Mana Sieve gets significantly beefed up, which I can't see happening - it will remain a crock.

I agree with the sentiments of everyone else on this thread but keep in mind.

If you are using reaver, it counts as a spell to trigger the heal effect.

In Pvp it is a little more useful. (but not overly so.)

Are those enough reasons to put aa points into it? Definately not.

If you're using Reaver, you have more than enough spells to keep it going anyway, not once have I found myself with nothing to click. If you're at the point where you're so low on power and HP that you have to use Mana sieve, you're dead anyway - Reaver only returns 2% HP, you'll get hit harder than that.

So it helps. Also you will often get into situations in PVP (especially one on one) where both sides are near 0 mana and 0 health. Even here the fight can go on for quite a while and in this situation Mana sieve can actually make the difference.

It's interesting that in all these discussions like this the PVP aspect of the Sk's abilities seems to be ignored. The main point with mana sieve is not the mana benefit that it gives you, but the drain and detriment to your opponent. Its another example of spells like doom aura and Reflect that are near useless in PVE but are good and even amazing when fighting other players.

I guess what i am trying to say is, if you play on a PVE server. Dont even place it on your Hotbar, let alone upgrading it. If you are a PVP'er then it can be useful but dont worry about it too much.

i use because of the simple reason its a free heal with reaver ,and free mana also handy if its just a small amount ,thats why i use the clicky from KoS ,with the 1k damage ,it gives a free heal too

One thing I can honestly say safely is that mana sieve is USEFUL!! But.. In LON!! Mana sieve LON card has its uses in LON games while mana sieve in EQ2 means so little.. EQ2 mana sieve needs to be upgraded to be almost like LON mana sieve.
