Improving Root/Decreasing resist?

I  did perform a search for this, but all the threads that came up seemed to be not applicable or rather confusing to a VERY new Wiz.Other than Casting over and over to get your skill up and getting those Adept IV/Master, is there a way to improve root and decrease resist rates? Is there an AA line or equipment type that will improve my root ability. I've been duoing with a Coercer, and so far it has been working well, but having a nice root would improve our ability a whole lot! Thanks in advanceMB

<p>Also to make the most of your roots, you will want to lay off the DoTs.  DoTs give a chance to break the roots every time they tick.</p><p>Obviously, DoTs account for a significant portion of a Wizard and Coercer team's damage.  So, I can't see giving them up completely.  You may want to delay them until later in the fights.  The Coercer would need to adopt this tactic as well. </p>

I can't recall the exact amount on my Wiz.</blockquote>I was having lots of trouble with hillock crushers resisting my roots, so respec'ed to the STA line and with 7 points in "Battlemage's Fervor" after I had only 1 resist for the whole night.
