View Full Version : logical historically that an Iksar 'starts' in Gorowin?

As Iksars don't start in Gorowyn I was going to create one and run it over to Gorowyn; which I have. Well. Actually I ran her to the Kunark newbie area via suicide from the Gorowyn docks. Ehum.Anyway. Now I realised I should have started in Freeport and gotten a ciitizenship thingie from the big lizard in the FP Militia house so I have to have her go 'home' first before she can actually go home. Again. But as I was thinking today at work (I really shouldn't do that), I started to wonder how 'logical' it would be for an Iksar to start in Gorowyn. After all in EQ1 the Sarnaks and the Iksars weren't exactly on speaking terms. Now with the moon exploding and such and as Kunark survived (and the Sarnaks with it), is it really that far fetched some of the Iksar population survived as well? And maybe the disaster brought the two races together like. For survival?I really haven't read up on the Kunark lore or explored much of the new lands except for Gorowyn on my main so I can't know if there are any Iksar settlements somewhere and as powers that be decided that newborn Iksars weren't to start in Gorowyn in the first place....Now I know Gorowyn is neutral, which is probably the reason why Iksars can't start there but I was wondering if there would be any lore reasons for it?I am by no means a roleplayer nor do I care which race/class combo I play (actually I prefer a rare ones) but I do give each char a sort of a backstory and they usually all have a personality and likes/dislikes. Just for me though. I have severe altaholic syndrome and it helps me being interested in the chars I play.

It may make sense in that Iksar that refuse to worship Venril Sathir as a God may take refuge there, but I think the old racial hatreds would not die down that easily.

The Iksar empire dominates 70% of Kunark in the expansion. The main reason why an iksar wouldn't start in Gorowyn is because they would be born in Sebilis or the Kunzar Jungle instead.

There's also the little detail that the Iksar created the Sarnak as a slave race and dominated them for years before the Sarnak rebelled.

Highly doubtful that Iksar would find refuge in a Sarnak city given the background between the two races, and the high level of xenophobia that the Iksar born on Kunark would still have.

Then again, it still makes no sense to have other races "born" in Neriak either, so who knows.

Excellent points...But I thought Venril Sathir was a dragon not a god? And wasn't the Iksar empire was destroyed in the moon explosion? Okei I'm off to read some lore lol I really showing my ignorance here.Well. If I *really* have a hankering to have an Iksar in Gorowyn I guess I could make her an orphan found by the Sarnaks and raised there. After all I doubt Sarnaks would turn away a little broodling regardless of race or bad history? Its corny I know and over used background but I would be keeping the background to meself though.Or she could be a traveller from Freeport and has decided despite the animosity and distrust, that she wants to live there and is determent to prove her worth and gain the trust of the inhabitants....Okei I think that would be a much better backstory than the orphan thing. Thanks guys
