Has anyone noticed that the dogs AOE prevention seems to work very irratically? I have been noticing that a lot of mobs just seem to not care that he is immune to their AOE attacks.

I've been noticing some wierd stuff happening with him as well.

I know part of it is....the riposte on mobs is killing him. Because riposte isn't an AoE, he get's vaporized in one shot.

Other than that, I have noticed on live now as well as when I was in beta, Dog dog was not "safe" from all AoE damage. Whether it's damage shields, reflections, ripostes, or even DoT effects tied to AoE's, he was worm food rather fast.

I'm thinking of retweaking my expertise a bit to try some other setups and see how they work. The dog is quickly becoming a liability that will only be used for specific tasks I think.

If you turn the mobs away from the dog he will at least avoid most of the frontal arc thingies that seems to be unaffected by AoE immunity. I suppose some riposts from the mobs wont go off if you have your dog behind the mob aswell.

Yes, I have completely noticed this. I even said something in guild chat about it as it happened several times in one night. Some mobs would hit both me and the dog, with me having the aggro.
