I just came back to EQ2 after a several month hiatus and am going to try my hand at dual boxing. I have scoured the forums for a couple days looking for all the info possible on combos and am down to a few choices. My goal is PVE questing and occasional farming after 30. I want to be able to do quests (including heritage) before they turn green with at least mild safety. I know I want a scout due to tracking to speed up questing and finding of named. I am looking at these choices.... Brigand/Defiler Swashbuckler/Fury Assassin/Defiler Obviously the assassin duo is the weaker of the 3 duo to lack of any tanking ability and needing to be behind, but I didn't know if it would still be possible to do what I was looking for with a healer behind him. Any help in this would be greatly appreciated!

I have two boxed my swashy for quite some time so can give you some ideas on that. The healer combos I have tried,Swashy/FurySwashy/InquisSwashy/TemplarSwashy/Mystic (mystic is only lvl 57)Swashy is lvl 70 , 100AAs KoS/EoF fabled. other healers than mystic or lvl 70Fury works out great for the easier stuff, I found though when trying to two box the tough instances(Obelisk of blight) I had problems, I think this was due to 2 boxing not the fury, was just too much to do to keep the heals going while pulling etc.So tried inquis. Figured the dps buffs would work out well. Another solid combo but again would have some issues with the tough stuff. Betrayed to templar. Oddly enough the templar has been the most solid combination, with all the healing, the heal procs and such I can fight the toughest mobs. I do give up some dps as the templar doesn't buff dps directly really. When two boxing , something to be said for putting up reactives, and then pulling , knowing you will survive the pull without having to spam heal Mystic may turn out to be even better, as reactives cant' always keep up with dmg spikes and has great debuffs. In short.Swashy and Brigand are best bets for 2 boxing, (Assassin is doable but not near as effective), swashy better at multi mob encounters, brigand wins against single target. For hearlers, I have found the best combo for 2 separate players, isn't the best one for 2 boxing so have shifted to the shaman/cleric types. All healers are fine for most stuff, the later let me take on a bit tougher content though I give up some dps.Hope this helps.D

I 2 box a Swash and Warden. Boxing a Templar and Swash was too tough (for me, I'm not all that coordinated) - and having portals and 45% SoW is a nice utility for the duo.

"I do give up some dps as the templar doesn't buff dps directly really"I am going to bet the templar provides the same if not more dps to you if you are using spurn line spells frequently. Mini (think second best for physical damage behind Brigs if mastered) melee dispatch for over a min!-1058 vs all physical for 1min 12 secs for lvl 70 master.

I honestly don't think it gets better than an inquisitor for a duo partner

Good point about the templar debuff mitigation that can be kept up all the time. Though the thing to keep in mind is that the debuff is single target while an actual dps buff (to haste or dps) will go towards all targets(though only on autoattack). I did find overall my dps was lower with the templar, but I could take on tougher content. The inquisitor was a nice duo parter, duoed the inquisitor up with my swashy already at lvl 70 till the inquis was lvl 70. But I found I just didn't have the healing power to deal with the tougher mobs in the instances. The templar also has a longish stun (hmm 5+ secs) which when time with walk the plank is pretty handy. So I betrayed my inquis to templar and liked the combo better. Currently I'm working on raising my mystic up (currently lvl 62). This may end up being my favorite combo. Wards are so nice with our high avoidance. Mystics buff str, but no real dps buffs, but... I have taken the AA line that ends in alacrity (shaman lines). This gives me 30 sec of 33% faster cast/reuse/recovery every 90s. This has turned out to work really well as I can basically get inspiration off every 90s. That and when I get my lung puncture and dps debuff off and then the mystics debuffs off, wards stay up quite a while .So far in terms of two boxing, I have found for tougher mobs.Templar (could keep me alive against the toughest mobs of any of the healers I have tried)Mystic ( maybe moving up once I get to end game, liking so far)Inquis (nice dps buff and haste (haste up sometimes), rarely ever runs out of power. faster killing but not quite as good against the tough stuff)Warden Fury. Now part of this is just how I two box, putting up wards/reactives and having some breathing time is much easier than pulling and having to heal with druid. Druids I found a bit to much attention needs to be paid for me when I two box, others may have different experiences)Fury seemed the best for easier multimob killing. All of these are viable combos and may work better or worse with others depending on how they two box.D
