Hey guys, i will roll with a group quite often but they logg off before I do, so I was wondering... how is the Coercer soloability?

Basically Idon't want a class that = easy mode and love a challenge. However I want to be able to solo if I need to, even if its tough... that just makes it more fun heh.

(doesn't matter if they are complex, I can learn )

Soloing a coercer is hard to learn, and the quality of your charm spell makes a huge difference in the damage done by your charmed pet's nukes. (Level 33 M1 charm is better than level 47 Ad3 charm). I died a lot in the beginning. But now my coercer is my favorite soloer.Btw, in a full group it's usually best to use all your concentration slots for buffing your group members, in a small group it's probably better to charm if you can find a good pet.

Of all the classes I have played coercer stands out as the most fun solo.

You can do crazy stuff when it works. On the other hand you can die to pathetic easy mobs if you mess up.

I love it

I've soloed exclusively since RoK release. I've pretty much melted everything in front of me including named encounters. From what I can tell, it seems they fixed some things in our class. I have noticed though that the mobs in RoK seem to hit WAY harder than I would have imagined. I mean, I trained through an area yesterday and was nearly 2-shotted by a blue con mob. Any way, happy soloing.

Somewhat newbie coercer here. /wave

My coercer has reached level 31 soloing about ... 85-90% of the time. I find running around with 1 or 2 other people a little more interesting since you get a chance to work a little strategy and so forth, but solo is a blast. As others have said, it's important to improve your spells, especially your charm, to solo. If you are willing to put an effort into learning the class and suffer through a few [Revive?] screens when you bite off more than you can chew then you'll love it.

In other ways she's very hard to solo successfully.

More deaths with the coercer than all my other characters combined. And some of them are 70, she's not lol!

Can do 3 up arrow targets if *everything* goes right. Frequently the pet gets the beat-down very fast from most 3 up arrow mobs, and its a busy time trying to live long enough to win those fights. Pulled off a couple of 'big game' kills but its not easy with the tools coercers get. Can be fun and rewarding, if you can get used to alll the deaths

Coercer is the eaasiest and hardest class I have played. Deaths? yup, lots. So many my new guild sig has the mender in Neriak as the backdrop (cause it looks cool, too). I find I now get frustrated duoing or trioing 'cause it takes longer to do stuff. A full group is still fun, though. And death.. a small broker bill, meh. (I plan to keep mostly treasured gear fr soloing *laugh*)

"If it can be mezzed, then it can be killed" that is the motto I live by with my Coercer. So if I can land a mezz on the mob first thing I see that as a potential kill. I have yet run into something that was not mezzable. If that first mezz gets resisted then I'm pretty much toast. Then atleast I get the chance to go visit my best friend, the Mender. But in all seriousnous, it is tough to play a coercer. The great thing about a Coecer is that you feel so powerful even with spells that do little damage. So that when you see a big ^^^ heroic mob somewhere no matter what it is you'll stand there and face it and try to kill it. Where as if I was playing one of my other mage classes I would probably turn tail and run instead.

Greetings, im back to the game after a very long absence. Kunark and Sarnaks made me return Been wanting to make a coercer for a while. It seems from previous posts that coercers can solo well? If one knows the tricks? Im used to playing casters in other games so having no HPs and dying a lot wont be a problem. I like a challenging but fun solo character. and charming stuff is always fun too.
