If you was an Erudite then findint these mobs is alot easier. I myself am one and have started compiling a list of good pet in Kylong Plains. Not so sure I want to post that info here. From past experience once someone starts boasting about a high nuking/damage dealing pet the very next day SoE will be applying a patch to make the best mobs uncharmable.

finding these mobs is already very easy. Just pick one that sounds like it's a mage and you will find that it has decent dps.

I think we've been given a bit of a boost with the KP mobs. I've had quite a bit of success with the melee-type mobs. And let me say that I like a corpse candle as much as the next guy. The mobs in Kunark auto-attack for a LOT of damage--frequently in the 700-900 range. The difference in DPS seems, at least, a lot less significant than it is with mobs from other zones. And there's a bonus to this, also--the pets are holding aggro.

The Drachnid Enthrallers (illusionists) are a decent pet. Their magic is mental-based, so, assuming you get your debuffs in, they'll cast Mind Shock for up to 7,000'ish (with 500+ INT, Breakdown and Psyche), though more typically in the 4,000 range.

The various Drolvargs are decent pets. I preferred the Ravisher, but also had good success with the Gnashers. No big nukes but solid auto-attack and frequent 1k combat arts.

I did real well with the Sel Dok (sp?) Infiltrators near the Jarseth zone line. FYI, the Infiltrators were occasionally dropping between 3gp and 7gp. They open with a nice double attack for just under 2k damage and have the same solid auto-attack damage as the other mobs.

The Elder Wurms have a nice set of nukes (usually in the 3k-5k range)--plus they're impressive and intimidating. I was debating all night whether to play the intimidation card (I'm on a PvP server) or hide the Wurm behind an illusion to lull potential foes into underestimating me.

I forgot what they're called--the little goblin-y guys near the worms--I tried the Shaman as a pet, as we ALWAYS have good luck with Priests, and I was a little disappointed.

The Zealot mob up in the snowy area of the mountains (oh my memory--something Pass) was one of my favorites. He had a disease DoT that ticked for over a 1k and some decent nukes.

What I took away from a solid four or five hours in KP tonight is that we are MUCH less restricted in our pet choices. Truthfully, I wasn't expecting this. The same mobs that everybody's talking about--how hard they hit--make excellent Coercer tanks. SO FAR. And, FYI, I haven't run into a particularly resistant or uncharmable mob, yet. I'm sure I will, but wood is being knocked tonight, if ya know what I mean.

I seen couple nice pets but will not post names as most Coercers will not I guessing. You could rename title " What pets should we nerf first " though. Anyway you should be happy with most pets atm as they seem to have more hp then before so dont die after 2 hits.

My favorite so far has been reet wizards in kunzar jungle. They nuke for 4k-8k usually. I burned through level 73 in a few hours doing quests with one of them. There are a few others that were decent, but I forget their names. /Tell Kithicor.Naeviticus sometime and i'll be able to give you more detailed information.

I have just started a T8 section in Coercer_Pets in wikia. Feel free to add more info in wikia.

Shouldn't have problems finding a decent pet in KP - they are all quite nice to use and the melee pets are actually viable whereas previously they tended to be a bit rubbish and die in a couple of hits. Those enthraller spiders are decent, and the group of Sarnaks near them has a few warlock type mobs which are also pretty good.

sounds like from all the players that the new zones have monsters with tons of hit points, nuke hard, very hard to kill. Some people say they are to tough

Those over-powered mobs always make good pets cause even if our charm [Removed for Content] them, the 'over powered' part of them keeps them 'decent' charmed pets

I love the lizard Coercers that wander at the beach with the fishmen. They have a charmed pet but I have never had one reset on me despite me killing his pet. I first charmed them because I thought it was fun w a coercer charming a coercer. They seem to be Necromancers though, they summon pets (a whole bunch of little pigs!) and cast Lifetap. They hit for about 1900-4000.

Yeah those zealots are fun.. a necro pet I think.

There's a good few mages that nuke OK.

I actually have used a melee pet more of late, like the rangers in Fens, with hate and dps mods on them and using reactives. But there's enough caster pets to just stick with that style.

The criteria for a good pet still hasn't changed, and it's not hard to pick them out. Now with RoK, pet auto-attack isn't bad, the nukes are higher because of being higher level mobs, and the survivability is quite decent.

Yeah, finding melee pets more viable now.
