Grey Broodlings :(

Anyone else noticed this? while before this update the broodlings where blue con to me (so they must have been scaled up to 65 or something) they are now grey, level 52 (at 70) and cannot hit any mob in Kylong Plains.Silent nerf? <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />I actually cannot believe nobody noticed this on beta, including myself.

isnt it because of the spell being upgraded, so the prev version stops scaling with your lvl like summoner pets do?

i beta buffed a lock to 80 and the broodlings are green.  usually how it works is a pet or dumbfire will hit its max lvl the lvl before it gets upgraded.  IE a pet upgraded at lvl 34 will only reach a max lvl of 33.

Yea, but the broodlings don't get upgraded until level 70 something, and they don't even scale. They are just level 52, and I'm only 61, but they will be grey to me soon, and if it doesnt get upgraded until lvl 7x how are my grey level 52 broodlings going to do against a 75x4?

After getting the upgrade now this worries me even more.. again they dont scale (they are already blue at 73 to me now, and be green soon <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />)... this means they wont be able to hit 82+ mobs very good, which is very frustrating imho.

Yeah I got the upgrade hoping it would fix things, but the broodlings whiff just as much versus yellow mobs. =/ They certainly aren't what they once were, it's dropped a tank in my casting rotation.

I'll test this out tonight when i get home and see if they are being resisted constantly in some of the higher areas and see if they still grey.

Somehow in all the expansion excitement our broodlings got broken.  Somehow our broodlings are permanently stuck at the level of the spell cast (72 for the RoK spell upgrade).  You'll also notice that the old dark infestation spell only spawns level 52 broodlings now. <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />   Definitely a bug.

I think it's gotta be a bug. Consider that broodlings have always scaled with adventure level up until the RoK release, plus every other dumbfire pet I have been able to check still scales by level (our own nightblood, my gnomish racial trait swarm pet, plus discussions with other classes to see if any of their own pets have been changed in this way).  Our lvl 72 broodlings at least won't completely grey out since there will only be an 8 level difference by the time we reach 80, but consider that the previous spell is not upgraded for 20 levels, so those level 52 dark broodlings must be used all the way through lvl 71.  <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" width="15" height="15" />

There's no way this isn't a bug.  What use would level 72 Broodlings be at level 80?  The things will be resisted by absolutely everything.Already at level 73, I haven't seen my level 72 spell hit for anywhere near what it should be hitting for.  Thanks to the broodlings being stuck at level 72.

<p>This is definately a bug.  The Necro's have a similar spell called "Pack of Imps" and it scales with level (according to our guild necro).  Pack of Imps is a lvl77 spell and he says they cast as lvl80.  That being said, I think all we can do is encourage every Warlock worldwide to submit a bug report to get this fixed ASAP!</p>

I just recently got the Broodling spell and was glad to come across this thread,  otherwise I wouldn't have known they were supposed to scale.  I did go ahead and /bug it as well as notify all of my Warlock friends about it.  I really hope they fix this soon.
