So I was looking at redoing my AAs. I dont use a buckler(please no insults with not being buckler, not all tanks use bucklers and you dont have to use a buckler to be a great TANK)..

I hold agro very well and my guild does very good DPS..

I am looking at:

agi- all the way down to end cap. (ae and end ability can be a life saver especially if casted at the right time)

int- all the way down to end cap. (haste and recast timer and such)

str- 448 (melee crit)

guard tree-

stal/block/crip

any other suggestions from non-buckler specced tanks. or buckler specced tanks that might have an interest on trying out towers..

this is just in general, I am at work so i cant say what points for each just posting out an idea as what I would pick.

That looks pretty close to the set up I'am on, and I've been happy so far.

The only end ability in the warrior tree I see as truly viable in a raid situation is the end ability in the INT line. Can anyone confirm or negate this?

The end ability in Agi was come in handy for sure. (and yes I mean in raids)

Yep, Dragoon's Reflexes is gold. Is it necessary? No. But, it can be very handy on raids.

Unless something in the new expansion makes the wisdom line more worthwhile, the OP's build of AGI/INT to end and STR 448 will be the standard non-buckler build.

Sorry, but how is the end ability in AGI worthwhile? Isn't it an AoE avoid, but only if you're not the direct target? This seems 100% worthless if you're tanking a raid.

I've never used it, but IIRC it's a prevent AOE unless direct which means your group/raid doesn't get smacked by AOEs for 12 secs. Very worthwhile in a raid IMO. At work so unsure if it protects the whole raid or not.

it wont protect any of your group or raid members at all and won't actually help you much with the aoe's as they will most lkely be directed at you.

However 100% parry for that 12 seconds is very very usful and makes it worth taking even without the aoe protect.

Yeah. Since the vast majority of raiders talk on vent/ts, if you're taking a huge physical spike of damage, just toss up reinforcement, throw in a few quick melee cas and then dragoon's, while telling the raid to drop dps till the healers have you stable again (can't imagine when you'd spike like that other than close to the beginning or if healers are LoM, but still, it gives you that option mid-fight)And off-tank guard can use this if he is having to handle an off group and the main mob hits the raid with an AoE (dunno why he wouldn't be out of range of the primary mob, but I'm sure there's situations I don't know of...been out of the raiding scene for a long while...just keep up with the goings on on this board and eq2flames as much as I can).I use it a lot duoing with my fury friend and just tell em to go get some mana off animal form while I sit there essentially invincible.Hell, I use it soloing too, if I'm running neck and neck with the RoK mobs (tough buggers) and just need some CAs to refresh I toss it up then unload when it drops.

U guys know there is a combo with Dragoon reflexes (12s Parry All + AE aviod, 3m timer) and 2 abilities within the INT tree? Makes Dragoon 1 of the best survival tools in game ...........

Reflexes is amazing and I find myself using it in groups when we get a few too many Your lines look similar to mine. I just capped the 70 in warrior tree and I'm looking something like this:Str: 4-4-8Agi: 4-4-8-8-2Int: 4-4-8-8-2Not in game but I'm short a few points it seems. Toss em wherever I'm sure.

If you generally roll with a coercer in your group I would think Dragoon Reflexes and an AA Coercers get called Thought Snap would be a good combo. Thought Snap will keep the mob aggroed to a fighter in the group for 7 seconds. Your dps wouldn't have to lay off at all and if you need you could just throw up reinforcement at the end. Just have the coercer use it 5 seconds after you use Reflexes.I am not sure if the coercer has to give up some other awesome abilities or not to have this but it seems like a good combo for raids or groups if you have a coercer friend.

Pardon me, But is this the new AA strategy after Rok, even for those of us at lower level as I am currently 23? I was going with sta 4-4-8-8 and str 4-4-8 for the Dps I read that this was a good build (http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=388121) to start. Is this Agi/str/int a raid build or good all around please advise as am New to this whole game. Thank you in advance for all advice. Edit: also Is there an in game Guardian channel for mistmore? or All servers?

This thread is focusing on those who choose not to go the Sta line and some viable builds without it. Str/Sta/Int is a great build especially while leveling. Wis line I have never found a use for.

well i have never used a buckler. yeah i know i am uncool my setup in the wwarrior tree looks like most of the otrher setups. (remeber these are points spend, not levels)1 bind wound4-4-8 str4-4-8-8-2 agi4-5-8-8-2 intthis looks to me as one of the best setups for non buckler users. wis just does nots eem to cut it for me.in the guard tree i am more focused on dps than others.21 poinst spent in the dps tree (getting lay waste) with 7 points brach into reinforcements and rescue.21 points weill go into cripple since i think it will help us really well.21 points put into stalwartingstill think this is a very basic build. and its a good one too i think.
