i apologize ahead of time.. because i know that all these questions have been asked a million times before. But at the same time i feel the need to get more personalized answers from the community.

So here are my questions. I'll start with a little backround info. I quit playing eq2 about a year ago... maybe even a little longer. I used to play on nagafen and i played a wood elf warden.. wich was fun( i like to be important to a groups foundation) but a little stand offish for my taste. I like to be right up in the mix of things.. or at least doing really good dmg. (My first mmo experience was eq1 and i played a rogue and a ranger.. i loved both .. and i guess that style is really the way i like to play. I want to play a class that is group oriented, because i love the social interaction in these types of games (im a girl.. i like to talk.. what can i say?) but i want to be able to solo a bit on those days i cant find a group. I want a class that is valuable to a group and a guild.. and i want to kick serious [Removed for Content] in pvp... but im not as much worried about that.. because i know if i learn a class well enough i can make her rock.

I was thinking of playing a shadowknight or a ranger.. shadowknight isnt a class ive experimented alot with but they look interesting.. and evil.. wich is always fun!! and well i just love rangers and all scout classes in general. So i was just wondering about what you guys think would be a good class for me to play, based on the information i have givin you.

Do you have more fun playing as a tank or as a DPS class? Do you like playing a popular class or playing a class that is somewhat hard to find? Do you want a role in a raid or do you want to be a "filler slot"?Seeing as you like scouts in general I'd give ranger a shot. But experiment with both and see what you like better.

Go with a Swashbuckler. They have group utility IE: group stealthing, and debuffs too. You seem to enjoy dps classes more, I would recommend a Swashbuckler. They also get track. For a first time character, it would be a easy one to learn pvp with and give you fair advantages in the pvp arena.
