Ok so I did the quests pertaining to the Kunark expedition and am really happy with them... was a really fun quest to complete. However something doesn't seem to add up. According to the quest the Lizard men are attacking both Freeport and Qeynos yet the Sarnak will be aligned with Freeport. This does not make sense to me. I may be missing something... anyone know what the deal is?

The devs have very clearly stated that the Sarnak are neutral but evil aligned for mechanics reasons only. It's a shame that they're still KOS in Qeynos though.

My personal philosophy is this. They are survving in very harsh lands away from everything except what you find on Kunark. They could care less about the rest of Norrath's political drama. If it doesn't pertain directly to them, then they just don't bother with it. They have more important concerns on their plate.

It would have been cool if they set the Sarnak as it's own independent race and let them be KOS to Freeport and Qeynos... that would though require Kunark to be gigantic with all the resources of the main cities. Thanks for the reply though I was not aware the Dev's were only doing this for mechanics I thought it was intended.I am really curious to see what happens between the Sarnak and the Iskar as well.. just by that quests it looks like things are heatign up between the two./excited!

Venril has effectively declared himself a 'God' and is hell bent on conquering any land he sees, therefore these Iksar attack both Freeport and Qeynos. These Iksar are mortal enemies of the Sarnak (and just about anybody else too). They also do not recognise the Iksar of Freeport as their blood brothers, as the Iksar of Freeport (by and large) are still loyal to the real God Cazic-Thule.

Yeah the Sarnak are entirely neutral. Besides. You were attacked by Sathirians, and not one Sarnak.

At least in Qeynos, the NPCs reference being attacked by Sarnak. The Wood Elf in particular mentions being old enough to remember what they look like.

As for the Sarnak attacking ships, let's not forget that there are two factions of Sarnak. The ones in Gorowyn might just be trying to carve out their own little nitch, but the Di`Zok Empire is fighting Venril for domination over Kunark, and most likely, any other land it can get it's claws in. Just because people are attacked by Sarnak doesn't mean it was the ones who's home is Timorous Deep.
