I'll start by saying that I've been looking everywhere, but most of the talk about the new expansion is focusing on gear and spells, etc. and quite frankly I don't really care about that stuff at the moment.I've been a hardcore Iksar fan since Ruins of Kunark went live in EQ1. That being said, the whole idea of this expansion was very exciting to me. Finally, I was going to get to go home. Then we started getting more information, and from what I know thus far, Venril has taken over, and the empire is strong yet again. However, he has declared himself a god, and is punishing all those who continue to worship Cazic-Thule. That's really all I can get from the quests on the live servers. My question then becomes, what's really going on here? I read in a post by Cusa that we should be able to work up Sathirian faction and join them. Does that mean that I'll be forced to quit worshiping Cazic (like the good/evil deity restrictions), or perhaps all deities? What does this mean for the empire, will Cazic strike them down like he did the Shissar in ages past?I know a lot of this can't really be answered at this point, but any information that could help would be greatly appreciated, and I'm sure in the next couple of weeks we'll know a lot more.

Well, everyone should gather that an NPC can't force a player to change his or her ways.

Other than being an epic raid target deep within Sebilis, I don't know any more information about him. Us beta testers were not given any Epic Quests to work on or other epic storylines that may involve him. The developers stated they're witholding this from us so that all players will start off on the same step when they finally do put them in.

Does your choice of deity even change how others react to you? I know it played a factor in EQ1, but I didn't think it affected much other than the blessings and miracles you recieved in EQ2.

No, it doesn't, but as someone who cares just as much, possibly more, about lore as gameplay little things like that matter to me.

I personally think the story with Venril Sathir is laking at the moment, however i believe once the epic weapons start to appear, he will like be among the hit-list, am just curious as to what exactly the weapons will be.. but thats something for another time.
