Are these raid zone dropped or avatar dropped? Are they like relik gear that require a quest? Is there a legendary set that can be gotten from instance zones?

what makes me sad is the fact, that many mage fabeld set gears look very similar. e.g. the robe of the coercer has similar texture just different colors

Seriously, who cares how it looks, when the effects and set bonuses are very underwhelming at best (with the exception of maybe 2 of the set pieces). How it looks really shouldnt be your top concern with the itemisation of our set [Removed for Content].

daray, as we discussed in the beta forum not all with this set is "the best for us" but if we have 24 fabeld sets and you have over one year of development there should be some more individual stuff. sure this is just the topping and nothing what really counts

Only thing I see that is a bit weird is the In-Combat Health regen. Besides that everything looks quite nice, and Yes I do like the bonus to Ray of Disintegration and I think 15 sec on our ice nova upgrade is freaking nice.Ok, 250 dmg bonus to Ball of Magma isn't really awesome either, so yes 2 point, Bonus to Ball of Magma and Health Regen. But that's all, If you feel like you are missing anything else, I am quite sure you ll find it in one of the 10+ slots of items you can fill with equipment too...

In their current form, wearing a broken set would actually be the better option from a maximizing raid dps perspective - which somewhat defeats the purpose of having set bonuses in the first place. Some of the individual pieces would be worn on their individual merits, but i think i would be hard pushed to want combine them for the actual set bonuses.SET BONUS 1: (3) Applies Focus: Ice Nova - Reduces the recast time of Bolt of Ice by 15 seconds and reduces the resistability.Currently, without this set bonus, I am sitting at a 35.2s recast. With the proc from the Earring of Unkempt Power active (which is up the vast majority of the time once it initially procs), this goes down to 30.4s (this is without use of the Ring of the Four Winds). The cap on the recast of Bolt of Ice is 22.5s, so this set bonus would really only be providing me with an 8s recast reduction - which is a less than ideal benefit.Perhaps this is an effect that would be better suited to being attached to an individual item of the set (e.g. the set pants as with the EOF set which are currently useless). Regardless, if it remains unchanged, then I will wear the 3 best set pieces to obtain this set bonus - and that's it.SET BONUS 2: (5) Applies Focus: Ball of Magma - Increases the damage amount of Ball of Magma by 250.This set bonus is extremely undesirable. For wearing 2 extra pieces of the set (over the Bolt of Ice bonus), we are given an extra 250 spell damage to a single spell. Why would any wizard sacrifice an additional 2 slots to achieve this bonus, when you can combine 2 other random items for a slightly less, equal, or greater amount of +spell damage that actually applies to ALL spells? I have seen easy heroic drops that provide somewhere in the region of +2 spell damage crit and +70 spell damage on a single item. I would easily take 2 items that each provide the equivalent of +100 spell damage to all spells (so +200 spell damage to ALL spells added together for both slots) over wearing 2 items that provide just 250 extra damage to one spell that I cast around 5 times a minute. This bonus definately ought to be rethought.SET BONUS 3: (7) Applies Focus: Rays of Disintegration - Increases the base damage of Rays of Disintegration by 10%.Again this set bonus is extremely undesirable, especially when you consider that you need all 7 pieces equipped to achieve this. As it already is, the actual damage output of Rays of Disintegration is relatively small (5.2k to 6.4k base multiplied by the number of mages in group). So with a maximum of 4 mages in one group, this spell will max out for 20.8k - 25.6k total base damage -- and it is on a 2 minute recast. This means that the raid will gain a max of 2000 - 2600 total base damage (not dps) every 2 minutes - which is so minor that it won't even influence the raid parse in the slightest. With the gear that we already have coming out of EOF, sacrificing items to use this 7-set bonus is pretty much inconceivable. Any 2 items such as the Robe of Al'Kabor, Gloves of Sagacity, Insulated Sleeves, etc etc will easily provide far more of a dps gain for the whole raid than wearing the worst 2-4 set items to take our set count up from 5 pieces to 7 pieces for this bonus. And the aforementioned items are EOF items - ROK will surely provide a multitude of better options.Set Bonus Suggestions:The set bonuses should definately be rethought, and should return a tangible benefit for people to actually want to sacrifice slots to aquire them. Alternatively, if you want to keep the set bonuses weak and underpowered, the individual set pieces need to be desirable to wear on their own individual merits (i.e. put desirable effects on each of the set pieces, and not just stats - see robe and cuffs). Examples of bonuses that would work well would include the likes of:* Reduced cast time on all spells* Reduced recast / recovery on all spells* A substantial % power reduction on all spells* Recast reduction on Fission (45s to 1min)* % damage modifiers that apply to all spells* Substantial damage proc(s)* Temporary proc effects* etc etc. (you can be more imaginative if need be, but remember it needs to be more than a token benefit). If you want to stick to enhancing individual spells, then there needs to be a sizeable enhancement offered to your chosen spell or ability - unlike the enhancements on this set.Thoughts on the individual set piecesSome of the set pieces are nice and I would wear them on their individual merits, but there are also pieces that let the whole set down, and without desirable set bonuses to compensate, they are nothing more than appearance slot fodder .... Keep in mind that my comments below are tied to the set bonuses remaining as undesirable as they are in their current form.CAP (Head): +7 Spell Crit Chance - This is a very desirable item and an item I would want to wear, but this depends on itemisation of the expansion as a whole, and if there will be items that are comparatively better. On the whole though, this is a nice item.ROBE (Chest): An effect to 10% max power has been added to this robe, which i suppose is better the "nothing" that was on it before. However that doesn't do much in dps-terms, and as a power item it even pales in comparison to the current T7 "Robe of Forgotten Dreams". Other reasons why this is of limited desirability are outlined elsewhere, such as actually making us suffer more to mobs with percentage power drains. In short, power procs > FT or increases to our max power pool size. Also consider, as touched upon above, that this robe does absolutely nothing for dps. While we got 10% to our max power pool, other classes received 10% to spell haste or spell reuse. Keep in mind that our set robe drops from Trakanon - which is supposedly the hardest instanced mob. But, you are right - I suppose I shouldnt really concern myself with this, since I already have a Robe of Alkabor to take care of my dps needs for this slot. However, I bet you most wizards would take the 10% spell haste "Shard of Fear" dropped robe over our new set one <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />" />CUFFS (Forearms): As with the robe above, this might as well be another "pure stat" item with absolutely no effect or bonus on it - 17 in-combat regen is useless and certainly isnt an effect. I have seen a legendary heroic drop from Karnor's Castle that will offer a far larger dps boost than this (which offers absolutely none). Even the Insulated Sleeves from CMF (EOF) offer +55 spell damage - and that is last expansion. This item needs crits, sufficient spell damage, or a proc/effect of some kind. Personally, I will keep my Insulated Sleeves until I see an upgrade to them.COWL (Shoulders): This offers +100 spell damage which i suppose is acceptable, but nothing to shout home about. I have seen legendary drops that comes very close or exceed the amount of dps gained through this set piece. Again it is dependent on itemisation of the expansion as a whole. Initial gut reaction tells me this should have slightly more spell damage on it.GLOVES (Hands): +75 spell damage .... This is a little on the low side and should be increased or it should have another minor effect on it.BOOTS (Feet): +7 spell damage crit (increased from 5). I haven't sat down to work out any calculations on this, but initial gut reaction tells me that this is still inferior to the Vine-wrapped Boots from EOF - keep in mind when comparing that the vine-wrapped boots are affected by proc chance modifiers (which most groups have now), whereas spell crits are not. If you want us to replace our vine-wrapped boots, I feel this slot still needs more work done to it to at least bring it up to par.PANTS (Legs): I rate this piece just slightly better than the robe and cuffs because it has an effect to it, although it is still completely useless. I thought we were moving away from FT? With a bard and enchanter in group (which is the case with sorcerers for many raid setups), we are already at cap for incombat power regen, meaning this item provides absolutely 0 gain. Even if the cap allowed for the 20 power regen from this item, the power procing pants from Mutagenic Outcast (now 2 expansions old), would still provide more power over the course of 1 minute than these do (and that is before proc chance modifiers are considered). In short, the effect on these pants needs to be scrapped and replaced with something more desirable. Perhaps look to the EOF pants for ideas, and move our ROK 3-set bonus onto this item (Bolt of Ice recast red)?Anyways, the above should just about answer your question Lauraliane. Basically, to summarise, no wizard that actually understands principles for getting the most from their dps, will wear more than the best 3 set pieces to obtain the 3-set bonus. Anything more is worthless. If you want an idea of where legendary gear obtained from heroic dungeons and instances is going, and how it compares to our fabled set, check out these screenshots taken from loot dropped from some easy heroic content.Hopefully I dont need to tell you why these are better than our respective set pieces <img src="/eq2/images/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY<img mce_tsrc=" />Also keep in mind when looking at our set, that this is the end-game set out of Veeshan's Peak / Trakanon. This is the best that most will see.

Are you sure this is what we are getting out of Veeshans Peek or is it the first set of fabled from all the other raid zones?

The robe looks cool.

Unfortunately, it appears the dev's still dont have a handle on what a wizard in eq2 wants, or how to handle progression from EOF > ROK

The only progression I see is the raw stats, but then again that just comes from an Item lvl boost not really a boost in an items power.

If the set was easier to obtain, I could see it having some reasoning as a "starter" set, and you will find better pieces to replace as more loot is uncovered, just like the EOF set and EOF gear went. (mix and match)

Either way, I look at that and go bleh. nothing really imaginative--except the art dept.

the Nexus Disruption set is the RoK equivalent of relic. it requires a dropped pattern and 3 dropped gems and a turn in for the item. unlike T7 relics, the patterns are not for cloth/leather/chain/plate. Wizards share a pattern with Beserkers, Swashbucklers and Wardens. all patterns are Scorched "itemslot" pattern. i can list the gems required per item if wanted. seems all sets will share a pattern with one class from each archetype. there is/will be another fabled set that is dropped as is, and just as relic (Lunarspun) vs Dracomancer, im sure the other set (which i havent seen) will be comparable or even better in most cases. Dont lose hope!!

Thats fine and dandy if the armor is easier to obtain (simmilar to relic) then having this as a "starter" set isn't so bad.

Tho if the molds drop off some of the harder encounters (as deray) mentioned then that defeats the whole purpse of a "starter" set.

So i have seen 3 new sets so far in RoK. Theres a Legendary all-mage set, a fabled Wiz/Lock set, and tehn teh wiz Nexus set. I have heard of a 2nd Legend set, but havent seen any Links or pics. So, if this is true, the Nexus is the end-game VP set, and the others imho are actually comparable. Seeing the difficulty it will be in obtaining the Nexus (because of the shared pattern not just the drop rate or difficulty of mob) the others might just become more popular. I have already started the Leg set which is Blasted something or other. Any shots of this whole set (only seen a couple pieves) or more importantly the other fabled would be amazing

Yes, I seen the level 77 "general" mage legendary and Nexus fabled and have heard that there are level 79 legendary sets and a top tier fable set. Anyone post stats/pics of these last two sets?

ok, so, still no word on the 79 Legend set, nothing but rumor so far. Seems the Lesser Fabled, or 78 Fabled set is called Focused Mind (slot). No idea where it comes from, and this one is Wiz/Lock set.
