Anyone have any idea how PVP gear will operate in T8?Anyone seen heads or tails of even a single piece of the gear itself? Also how is the lay of the land for PVP? Good? Or are we looking at cloudhopping 2.0?

So we're still on the token system? Any improvement on that, or just going to have to kill much much more? And we have jewelry and armor (soon [tm]) at least? That's great. I'm glad they're going to try to provide options to many slots. How about weapons, shields, ranged, cloaks, and what not? How well do we compare to raiding gear?
Weapons are in, they cost 400 tokens each. They include a bow that has a 9 second delay and a cap of 1000 damage, as well as a really powerful proc. Jewellery is in, it costs 300 tokens each. The PvP armour is not going to be in for release, offically. However there's faction gear from all sorts of factions in-game like the stuff in Maj-dul but not terrible. So we can wear that until we get to the PvP gear without having to raid. Focus Aim and Sniper shot have both been updated (But you can't cast focus aim in combat now) and so has Fusion. Darkhain can hit for up to 9000 with his new Fusion spell on his wizard. I am hoping for a cutback with it. Illusionists are currently the most overpowered class, with a 9.5 second stifle and other powers they can take on three people at once and easily win. In good news the zones are huge. People cannot now run to a zone line to escape PvP. The Sokokar Towers require you to use them, so you get a timer, meaning you can be interrupted. However you need to do a quest to get the sokokars on a dock where you're not immune and right now on beta it's a constant gank fest at said dock, making the quest very very hard. Since it's SUCH an important quest I really hope they put immunity there.

Any word on the lvl30 lock cap ?

Rhan

l70 ranger Venekor

Rhannnn wrote:

Any word on the lvl30 lock cap ?

Everyone's just buffing themselves up to 80 with the beta buffer and attacking people at the docks... so not really. There's not a lot of testing going on. Sometimes myself, the other members of my guild, Leibgarde and Abysses are the only people not standing around the docks. The only place where OOC has people in it are the docks too. It's a little frustrating.

i have been doing a bit of exploring, and i think venekor has a real problem comming.

the zones are sooo huge the 300-400 token to get the pvp items will take forever to get.kylong plains alone is as big if not bigger than SS,barren, and ant all together.there isnt alot of instances that i found so thats one good thing.

there is no immunity at 2 very key parts of the expansion,

1 kylong docks- there are a ton of quests that pay 15+g each and thats whare you start the line that the quest the whole server will be needing for the flying dragon zone mount.

2 cant remember the name of the area, but is just north of kylong docks, there are trainers for every class, bank, broker, all tradeskill stations, trade skill merchants, pvp merchants, mount merchant," the rhino drums cost 48pp with 600000 status atm",also a merchant that sells non pvp faction weapons that are better then mastercrafted and cost 4pp or so roughly each.

if those 2 areas remain no immunity areas, there will be some very fun money making pvp around them. you can also expect high 70 gank squads camping these areas. no bank on the docks, so if ya do 4 or 5 of the quests there and you are carrying 40-50 gold to lose

anyother thinkg you evil guys will like is that you can reach timourus deep by the sinking sands carpet

I am suprised no mentioned the Dark Elf racial trait of 15% speed boost while stealth/invis. Which may even be increased by items/adornments/etc.

Omg, people are so incredibly fixated on that FoI buff. I doubt it will mean anything at all in PvP, the only ones who should care about it are the ultra hardcore min/max raiders (the 1% of 1% people) and even for them the difference shouldn't be much to talk about. Things like snare reduction and increased runspeed will give much more significant advantages in PvP, and those abilities are spread around on many different races. So relax... lol.

I had heard we were going to get gear comparable to the best raidstuff since most one-side pvp factions never even approach it. Pretty sure I saw a picture of a 111 damage rating onehander... So 94 doesn't seem that impressive relatively.

So it is probably a non-issue.

So is the token system changing at all?I've got about 3 people who will reactivate if tokens are going to be plentiful enough to purchase the gear, but at least on Venekor 300-400 tokens a piece of gear is going to be painfully difficult to achieve, especially if you want to get weapons, accessories, armor, and whatnot.Any word on PVP objectives or anything that will help centralize PVP at all?

I've sat in immunity on Drednever or been in Klak'Anon on a lowbie and seen huge raids of people go by filled with untitled members that I've never seen before. At least for a while there will be many tokens to get, and hotspots in the zones with lots of quest givers where much PvP can take place. Of the four zones in RoK, three of them have cities in them. Large ones. With one (level 83) exception, all of the instances require quite a bit of walking to reach. Armour isn't in yet so I can't comment on that at all, but 300/400 for the weapons doesn't seem too bad. They have nice delays (4 seconds usually) and nice max damage too. For people commenting on rating, rating doesn't mean squat so don't bother looking at that. I will say that many racial abilities seem quite powerful. My ogre has a 3 second knockback/stun. I can also sprint for quite a while without my power bar moving much at all. And the poison thing for ratonga and halflings seems extremely uber - poisons proc a whole lot on bows already, imagine a ratonga/halfling ranger using one of the myriad of 9.5 delay bows in RoK. Teren's Grasp definitely needs immunity though. I am not a fan of immunity at all, but with the way it's set up it's very hard to do anything at all right now because of where these locations are and how important they are. There's even a druid ring right outside. It's just going to become a terrible deathtrap for anyone who goes there. And Amphibia - Yes really, but there is the fact that nobody has potions or faction gear in beta, so they can't cure stuns and roots and all that lovely stuff.
