Spill it. I've been told by more than one person that Defilers got really screwed in RoK compared to Mystic's and other healers in general. Any truth in this? I'd go to a real eq2 website that would actually have answer's on it but eq2flames is down =/

Templars got a nice bonus Wardens Furies left out in the cold. When have you ever had to worry about a Mystic? Forget about Mystics... with the rest of the changes we are no longer needed to raid. Your 80 ability needs some work ( ours now as I betrayed because of the Mystic problems ) but in all Defilers and Templars are good. Temps with the best spell though.

New spell

Deathward - Ward that increases in value depending on how close to death the target is

Also on the new armor set there is a bonus that further increases the heal amount of this spell.

Mystics got a pet the procs a ward (or something like that.....don't we both already have this?)

Mystics are going to be seriously hurting for power regen with some of the changes so I think with this new spell and defiler power regen capabilities the defiler slot in the MT role is still secure.

(All priests with the exception of furies got something to help them heal, furies got something damage oriented)

I didn't beta buff my defiler to 80 because I didn't want to lose all of my masters, but from the posts in the beta forums, the deathward spell seems underwhelming. It doesn't do much more than our existing wards but it is on a much longer timer. The templars are getting a huge buff, but I don't see this as hurting us at all. To be honest, it will be nice to have stronger templars.

Probably the biggest change to us is that we will no longer be able to swap out equipment mid-battle. So no switching to labs pants or tribal hat when we need more power and then switching back. However tinkering items can now be used from in our bags, so we can wear good charms and still use the overclocked mana stones and such. From what I have seen, we are still in decent shape, probably our cannibalize aa will be more important than it has been to date, but with the extra aa points it shouldn't be too hard to get.

Mystics are going to be hurting.

The hat is still nice (alot of people will end up wearing it the whole fight), but it is lagging behind a little bit. I've noticed power conservation plays a more critical role in some of the fights I've seen... mob DPS has definitely scaled higher then priests healing capabilities this tier. However, it is hard to say if and for how long it will stay that way, as who knows what people's kits will actually end up looking like. We've seen the beta-buffed jewelry, we've seen some other stuff here and there, but by and large there is alot of gear out there we haven't seen... and power management is always more of an issue when you first take on content.Honestly, nothing a power root can't handle IMO... on top of the fact that channel now gives a positive mana return, if you are in the MT group, you are probably still fine.

Most of us are not going to get next to a mob and melee. That gives us alot more options to use the gear we need to get the job done without getting pasted. Make sure you do not retire all of you power clickies, bring potions/totems, and power roots and with the group most of us are in there should not be an issue.
