Hey all,Since the NDA is now down for ROK I figured I'd make a post for the info.I was in beta but due to a comedy of errors I didn't get to play with my swash much because he didn't move until about 2 days ago.The only think I know from the boards there is that almost none of the swashy's are happy with our lvl 80 spell due to it being a major deagrro (it swaps your position on the mobs hate list with your target) which they see as a tank rescue type spell. If you have questions I can log in my 70 swash on beta and try to look it up if someone else doesn't post a response first.

I actually do see some major uses for the Sleigh of Hands (I think that's name of the lvl 80 spell), especially if it's raid wide rather than just in group. Here's exampleMob hate list after Warlock is naughtyNaughty WarlockMain TankSecond TankSexy Swashbucklerblahblah------------------------------------------------We then pop our lvl 80 spell which makes the hate listSexy SwashbucklerMain TankSecondary TankNaughty Warlockblahblah-----------------------------------------------------------------We then can pop whatever deagro's we need to drop ourselves below others and we've just saved the warlock, allowed the tank to keep rescue up for saving someone else, and improved our view in the eyes of players.I also frequently tank for my guild, although I know I am in the minority with this, so any "rescue" type spell I can get I will like.

It looks awesome to me. It might possibly make the Int line and feign death a very useful thing on raids. It's not ALL about dps, and even if it was, this allows somebody else to do more damage and pawn it off on you.

after spending some more time on the beta server last night I'm liking this spell more and more... the only thing I think we are missing now would be an agro pull (sorry don't have any other toons above lvl 35 so can't compare to other classes) that would do the same thing as our agro transfer but instead of sending it to the tank would allow us to take it from someone who has less ability to dump agro.Imagine a situation where you were pulling 15% of a warlocks agro, dumping 19% of your agro onto the tank and had the Sleigh of Hands to save some naughty warlock who does pull agro, it would be class defining and we'd see a ton of yelling for raids looking for swash for hate management.I do agree with those yelling that decreasing the immunity timer for our 7 piece class gear is rather stupid, if someone spikes to the top of the hate list twice in 1.5 minutes, let'em die I say.
I say use it on the Illusionist in the mage group after you have burned all your CA's with all your deaggro stuff off, this way you can put the Illusionist at teh top of the aggro list and then the wizard looses time compression and boom, wizzy is not on top of DPS anymore

I don't see this as a very useful spell. As an endline ability, it should be something useful to all swash's, most of the time....not some swash's every once in a while. Raids seem to manage aggro just fine without it, it's not going to increase swash desireability for raids. It's completely useless when soloing, or grouped with a competent tank. As a class defining, signature ability, it falls short.I really can't see many swash's devoting 22 AA for FD either....too much dps is lost, for the rare instance when SoH/FD combo could prove worthwhile.

Oh...and a lot of the quested treasured drops have a plus to melee crit chance. That stuff's going to come in handy.

I think they are trying to focus more on raiding in this expansion than ever before, 8 raid zones. Looking at it from that stance all the class skills that are targeted at raids (which seems to be almost all of them) it doesn't seem so crazy.

I'm starting to like Slight of Hand. There won't be any other class that will be able to do that in raids. That means, for every swashy, there can be a warlock burning their @sses off and then we yank and deaggro to the tank. Think of the dps gain raid-wide!

And you're right... this would make the INT line MUCH more attractive for raiding.... I'm thinking STR (for Swipe), INT (for FD) and then either WIS or AGL. It's a tough call until we actually start raiding... but it could be a really interesting strategy. We'll be needed for dps... but not OUR dps. =)

Yes, you lose some dps. But as was pointed out, dps isn't everything. Even without Sleight of Hand, FD is a CA well worth giving a closer look. It has a lot of tactical applications when soloing. And aside from having saved my own life multiple times, it has saved raids/groups from wiping mulitple times by leaving me the only one alive. Not to mention it has cut way down on my repair bills lol

Aside from using Sleight of Hand to keep a caster from dying, let's not forget it can be used to keep a tank from dying as well. There might not be many times during a raid that one would use this CA, but it could well be the difference between a raid wipe and survival.

P.S.

What will make this a truly valuable CA for a raid is whether or not it's raid wide or just group. The description I read was ambiguous. It just said target was "friend" without specifying raid or group.

Swashy's will definitely become an even more essential part of raids since their ability to control aggro will be so potent. This I think really adds some flavor to the class in both a raid and group combat. I've been in plenty of less than stellar group instances where this ability would have been a major help.
