Say you power level up to 70 (or soon, 80), can you still work on getting max AAs after reaching max level, or is it impossible?

I ask because there are several posts about people wanting to level lock to get the most possible AAs before reaching the level cap.

All experience gained at 70 converts to AP XP.

The conversion of XP to AA at level 70 (80) is slow compared to getting AA through questing and exploration at lower levels. It can be done though.

If you plan to 'power up to level 70/80' though, you are going to miss most of what EQ2 is all about, and might want to play the 'other game'.

*Edit* OK, I reread that and it might sound a bit harsh. But really, slow down and smell the shrubs. You'll have a better experience.

I'm taking it pretty slow I think, I'm level 33 with 28 AA, was just worry that at 70 we'd be stuck with how many AA we had getting to it.

With the level you're at, the AP's start to come in fast & furious, without even having to work at it. You've literally got tiers ahead of you. Steamfont ... Sinking Sands ... KOS ... you'll be fine.
