Hi Guys

I am new to the coercer and currently up to level 25 with mine and just wanted to get some advice from you more experienced players about a few things.

For soloing purposes which enchanter AA tree would be best to go for first? And tactics wise for soling what way do most people do it? Is charming a pet an essential thing as far as coercers are concerned ? I have read if you want to charm you need to get m1 of your current charm spell but at the moment m1 coerce is up for 2pp on the broker which I cannot afford to get so have gone for AD3 but charm still seems to break a lot with this so more often that not I end up not charming a pet and using the root/nuke tactic, I am probably doing it totally wrong so would be interested to hear others peoples tactics.

Any other tips/tricks you have as well would be very much appreciated

The spot you're at is a bit of a hard stretch. Your survivability is pretty bad, charm isn't real reliable and the duration is pretty short when it does stick.

Charming helps, but isn't mandatory. If you're going to solo, be prepared to die a lot. Charm a priest or mage mob, /pet ranged, root your target and engage from distance. Throw in a stun if the mob starts moving, root it again and reposition your pet if need be.

You may be better off at this stage trying to get into a group.

After 34 I almost exclusively duo'd questlines with a warlock and charmed non-stop. We went to 62 or so together before we started grouping again. The +subj skill from their group buff makes a big diff when charming, if you can't get that you're going to need to watch for +subj gear - though there isn't a lot to go around under 60 or so.

There's a coercer specific AA skill you can put 5 points into to raise charm reliability... try that. I think it's the first option in the Resistences coercer line.

After charming a caster, yes, use /pet ranged (set a macro button for it to save typing each time). If you want to kill just via pet nukes, consider messing the rooted mob between nukes. As this implies, M1 or Ad3 root and mes are handy too.

eq2.wikia.com has a nice list of pets... at your level the varsoon apprentices outside ROV can nuke for 600-900 or so I recall, though that may be at M1 charm.
