At level 11 soloing is typically limited to things weaker than you (blues and greens) if you aren't a twink.

It still goes pretty quickly. I recommend questing at this level. The quest lines in Darklight Wood and Greater Faydark are pretty good, and easy.

As you go up in levels, get better gear, spell upgrades, and AAs you will be able to take things higher than your level.

If you want to solo a lot, get the Mana Shield AA from the EoF tree.

All the classes run into a "wall" of sorts, some earlier, some later. Try leading with a root. Realize that, solo, you cannot stand toe-to-toe against a white or yellow monster and hope to survive. Harvest and collect everything. What you cannot use, sell on a broker. Use the money to buy, first, better spells, and then, better gear.

As to the spells get the best version of root that you can. Then, again if solo, concentrate on the single target spells over the AoE, though that is where we shine... otherwise, we're just enchanters with no pet and no mez. Still solo, try to get the best grade of the single-target spells you can, even if you only upgrade to Apprentice 2 at the Mage Tower.

Finally, as Iggyvyn suggested, go to Darklight (if evil) and Faydark (if good) and look for all the people with feathers over their heads. Pick up and complete their quests, it should go v-e-r-y swiftly until 20.

Luck, and keep at it! If you can't get over the wall, try another class, but don't delete the Warlock! You'll return once you know more of the tricks, it's a great class, and jaw-dropping in the end-game.

The warlock root has fear attached to it. So you should always lead with it. the next spell to cast is the encounter spell that weakens mobs against poisin/disease...with these in place the mobs will go down pretty fast. if you can upgrade to adept 3 spells do it. you will see a very big difference in damage.
