Firstly let me say that I'm a complete computer n00b so feel free to patronise me and treat me as a layman.

Ok the problem, I'm in a guild that raids EH weekly and I play a healer. I always raid on the lowest settings and most zones I have no problem but Emerald Halls causes me all manner of problems.

I seem to get horrendous lag spikes, by this I mean that I'm unable to cast heals and my screen appears to lock up this makes me almost redundant for the fight as I'm unable to play. Another affect that I hate is that I think I'm following the tank but infact what I see infront hasn't really happened. I end up running into a mob with the raid force miles behind me its like I'm doing a kamikaze Leeeeeeroy Jenkins, however, it really is very frustrating.

My setup is as follows, I play EQ2 on a computer that is 2 years old. It has a decent(ish) build and I'm playing with 2GB of RAM on Windows xp. The issues that I think maybe contributing to the problem are, the graphics card I used is a GeForce 6800. I have attempted to upgrade the drivers today to the latest ones and that going on as we speak hopefully it will help.

Secondly i have a slow but very stable internet connection, I live in an apartment development and I'm on broadband but, like I say, the speed if fairly abysmal.

I'm considering upgrading the graphics card to a GeForce88xx card but I thought I'd post on here first before spending a decent amount of money on something that may or may not help.

Any help or advice would be gratefully received.
