Okay I know that many posts have been made about this issue but most of them apply to Vista users and not XP. Yesterday Nov 4th 2007 I had no problems playing EQ2 but today Nov 5th 2007 after a small patch to make the Faydwer horses work correctly I cant seem to get on. LaunchPad starts to download Everquest2.exe_delta... and goes to estimating time remaining and when it is almost done downloading it says download canceled. I have several accounts on this comp but it is XP but I did right click run as Admin and it still will not work. WHAT IS WRONG?!?!? I wanted to get on tonight but it seems that I wont be able to. I am gonna try my second account on this comp then try it on the other comp but what is causing this when it worked fine yesterday. NOTHING CHANGED except a stupid patch. PLEASE HELP!!!!!Okay I just checked the alt account and I get the same problem. Please help me fix this!

You may need to test the game by disabling the firewalls and antivirals before you run the game. These can cause network blockages which can slow or even keep you out of certain zones in the servers. You can find the Windows Firewall in Control Panel. If you need to have the firewalls running, it may be a case of removing the game from the allowance list and then reallowing the game when you run it. You will just have to go through that process whenever the game patches. Also, you may need to reconfigure your router to allow our servers to connect to your system properly. I'll include some information that can help you. If your router supports SPI firewall, you should disable it. SPI isn't compatible with most MMO games. http://help.station.sony.com/cgi-bi...p?p_faqid=12293I hope this helps you. Best regards,Richard

Well thanks for that link but the issue is not a firewall... My system has always had a mobo firewall and it never made a difference before... I did disable the firewall before trying to play but again no success.

I am still having this problem. The only way i can get into EQ2 is to use the everquest2.exe file in the root directory.

I have turned off windows firewall and windows defender and i still get this problem

I am a windows vista user.

The file never downloads and in the end it say download cancelled. The file it is trying to download is everquest2.exe_delta...

Any ideas?

Are you running EQ2 by rightclicking the icon and clicking "run as administrator"?

The problem is server side. Look at your Everquest2Patch file. You will see each download indicates "Transfer closed" (unless you canceled the download yourself) or "Empty reply from server". I'm getting this about every 7-10 mins. and after 3 hours I have not even been able to finish downloading the first voice pack. (I still have 20 or so similarly large files to go!!)

My download stops after 1-2 seconds now.

[14:12:28] Patcher: Downloading EQ2IMEInputServer.exe [dloadsize=18865; totalsize=81920; crc=-929577280][14:12:29] Patcher: Warning: File size does not match: Local 90112 vs. server 81920, possible mid-push. Please try again or restart the application.

This is getting silly. I seriously hope I do not have to reinstall the game. I've buy everything digitally and I do NOT want to redownload 3 expansions and 3 adventure packs all over again.

I too am having problems with the "Download Cancelled" issue. I can log in, and it downloads for about a minute or so before the download is suddenly cancelled. I'll provide some technical information, I have a homebrewed PC with a P4M800PRO-M Motherboard I use 2Gs of DDR I 333 MHz RAM, which is kind of a backwards compatability thing, as my MB was designed for DDR 400 MHz and DDR II 533 MHz. Everquest 2 ran fine on this before my hiatus. My CPU is an Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 (1.80 GHz 800 MHz FSB 2 MB L2 Cache)My Video Card is a PNY GF 6800 Ultra AGP. Old, yes, but it ran EQ2 flawlessly before my hiatus.I use Windows XP Professional. The box my MB came in mentions it was design for Windows XP and ME, just in case that may mean it may not work well with Vista and having a MB that isn't Vista compatible may relate to this problem.I have been on a hiatus and have not logged in since August of this year until this month.I tried running the program via everquest2.exe , but I got a windows message saying something about not having verification to assess that file or something.I have listed Launchpad as one of the few exceptions for my Windows firewall blocking. There are practically no others EQ2 related listed as an exception. It's also worth mentioning that I haven't bought and installed RoK yet. I was planning to, but first I'd like to resolve this issue, and I've brought it up in case that fact may the the cause.I hope this makes the troubleshooting easier, because I'm ready to start playing EQ2 and I can't.

EDIT: Scratch what i said, download got to about 80% and starts downloading everquest2.exe and cancels all over again.
