In the thread explaining posting guidelines, a handful of files are requested (dxdiag, msinfo, eq2info).I tried to start a thread with my problem, but the forum won't even let me include ONE of these files. The msinfo file alone (cropped to the requested sections) is 72 pages when pasted to MSWord! How do I share these files?

As far as the MSInfo is concerned, only certain pieces of it are needed and each one of those pieces should fit into a single reply, although depending on your error log and running services it make take more then one copy and paste of those sections

The 72-page MSInfo.txt I mentioned is AFTER I removed all the unnecessary parts. It is 72 pages with ONLY the parts the sticky post asks for.

DXdiag maytake 5 posts to enter depending on the system

Once again, I appreciate the replies, but I'm posting on the technical help forum... If I knew how to resolve this myself, I wouldn't be asking for help.I'm pretty good at following instructions. Hence, I tried to post what was asked for in the Forum Guidelines. Now I have people telling me, in essence, that "I should know better", or "There's your problem". But no one is actually helping me fix anything.I realize you are both just regular players who have opted to help out people on the tech boards, and I really do appreciate that. But so far you haven't been helpful.***As a side note, I have about 60 processes running at the moment, but the vast majority of them are regular Vista processes. There are no malware processes running, I`m 99% certain of that.In regards to the requested Windows Error Reporting section, that section is enormous. Just scanning through it, I saw reference to programs that I haven`t had on my system for almost a year. But I wouldn`t know how to begin to crop it.

How about we take this 1 step at a time. Please post just your DXDIAG report and we'll go from there.

I'm only trying to figure out how to adhere to the rules. My actual issue is in this (http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/posts/list.m?topic_id=390477) thread. I've managed to piece together my DXDiag.txt and EQ2Info.txt on there, though it took about 7 separate posts. I've been getting a few helpful replies already, so the issue seems to be sorting itself out I suppose I'm still posting in this thread because I'm wondering why the forum makes it so difficult to do something that the forum guidelines tell us we are required to do.

"1. your internet connection is havint issues, you have multiple timeouts and high response time on a lot of hops"I live on a school campus in China. If you are logging on to a domain to utilize the campus network, it is possible that the logon you are using is not in the local administrator's group. From what I have seen the button would only be greyted out when you do not have local administrator privliges. Will verify some things about it when I get home tonight and see.

As far as the internet issues, the problems appear to start at 202.97.43.169 which is part of teh china-net backbone, you might check with the admin to see if there are any issue. One last thing to remark - it is possible the system admins have throttled the connections down for internet activity that is not school related, this maybe a big cause of your slow download speeds.

As a experiment (although I do not recommend permenantly doing this) is disable the UAC and see what happens.
