<p>Not sure what is happening here.....just curious if anybody else is having the same problem here. I can load the patcher just fine, go through the update and perform a full file scan just fine....but when it tries to go to the character select screen, It gets stuck on "Creating Entities" and gives me "lost connection to server"......upon further inspection, it is actually disconnecting my internet connection ;( After exiting I have to wait a few moments for my internet connection to reconnect. </p><p>Not sure what I need to include here either......Been playing for about 2 years now and have never had this until today ;(</p>

Not sure exactly what to test for here........I have reset the cable modem and the router and can use the internet and all other web related programs on my comuter just fine. This seems to only be happening when I try to get to the character select screen of EQ2 ;(

Not sure if it relates or not.......I switched over to the test server and it is doing the same thing "Creating Entities" loses server connection. Is there a few files in the eq2 folder I could delete or whatever that might help to fix this?

Okay, have stayed connected to the web and surfed the net for over an hour now........Youtube, Myspace, Google, Newegg.....etc, etc, etc......never disconnected. The minute I try to run Everquest 2......makes it through the update, makes it through the patch file......Disconnects on "creating Entities" still. I'm baffled and am giving up for now. I'll check back to the forums later to see if anybody has any suggestion on what I might be able to do here <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />

<p>Thank you for the posts here. I have no idea what was going on and why it would not let me login and disconnected me from the internet. I didn't play for about a day and a half, then tried to login.</p><p>Not sure exactly what happened, but I'm now able to connect and play again. Haven't changed anything so I'm guessing it was just a bug or something.</p><p>Again, thank you for the replies and trying to help me out here, but it seems like it's working again <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

If you have your firewall active, then after a patch you may need to remove the game from the allowance list and reallow the game, because the primary executable is altered and the firewall won't allow a clear connection. However the last line of your trace concerns me. You shouldn't be seeing "hardware failure". In this case, there could be an issue anywhere from the modem to the router to the ethernet card in your system, to even the cat5 cable going between each device. You may need to have your connection tested by a technician. I would recommend breaking it down to the simplest level (straight from the modem to the ethernet card of your system) and test for a start and work upwards from there. Also have your ISP run a diagnostic on your modem.Let me know how it works out for you.Thanks.
