Hey guys, I know the solo question gets asked alot but, having my class selection down to a choice between these two classes, I was wondering which is better at soloing (given all the proper AA specs etc). Let me know what you think.

Thanks

I think that early on the Warden will probably be better, since a great deal of their potency comes directly from their spells - which are always available. On the other hand, once you get up around 50 - 60 AA's, I think the Mystic becomes a more effective solo'er.All of that aside, I think they are very different in their approach. A Warden is probably going to snare / kite his solo kills, while a Mystic is likely going to be toe to toe. In that scenario, a Warden needs more "space" to work with, where a Mystic can pretty much do his thing with whatever space is available.Obviously, the big Priest solo machine is the Fury, and neither Warden nor Mystic come close to a Fury in terms of solo'ability. The downside is that there are about a bajillion Furies out there, making their spells more expensive.

The single biggest problem with a mystic in my opinion is power regen. You can't kill anything if you're out of power. They do have some freebie heals and that definately helps, but on a really long fight power regen is what you need to win. Inquisitors and wardens both have good in-combat power regen abilities while mystics have none.

Otherwise for group content this should not be an issue unless your power pool is really bad to begin with.

I have both lvl 70 melee spec'd warden and a mystic. So I know a bit on the subject. With the proper aa's both solo very well. The thing with mystics is they have long cast times on their wards and heals which are very hard to get off when getting beat on by a heroic mob. Ideally you want to prep yourself for battle by pre-warding yourself and bolstering or what have you to deal with the coming battle. The str line with the dog is good for extra warding as well. The warden is so power efficient and with his fast casting heal spells, healing tree, spores defensive heal proc and the str line healing proc my warden is always getting healed by something somewhere. His str is no where near as good as the mystics is but he still hits [Removed for Content] hard and with your pack of wolves things go down just as fast. If I HAD to pick one I'd go with the Warden, he always seems to finish fights with more mana and more health (which will let you continue on to the next mob that much faster). Wardens have good utility (compared to the Mystic) with insane 65% run speeds for traveling (with proper aa spec), ports, and evac that will save your life if you get in over your head which means less debt, less repairs and again faster travel.Don't get me wrong both are excellent. I just think the Warden has more pluses.

Have a 70 Warden and a 70 Mystic. Comparing them non raid geared with all legendary + half mastered out, anything my Mystic can solo toe to toe he will solo faster. My Warden do not have a chance at going toe to toe against the hardest mobs my Mystic can solo.

Going melee with a Warden will increase the speed you can solo with, but will limit how though mob you can take. Alternatively you can root nuke (I prefer that to snareing). This takes a LOT of time though, since your dps will be reduced (no damageshiled, wolfs, autoattack). It's quite power consuming to keep 2 roots up and nuke though, so dont expect to take yellow con nameds with only add1 and treasured/mastercrafted gear. Going root nuking means you can take down very tough mobs though, and can handle unexpected adds better (just root one away)

It all comes down to how much time you want to use on a mob and how tough mobs you want to solo.
